The WiiU would be the best console for browsing the internet.

Used the webbroswer a few times on PS4 with my smartphone and it works good and is pretty fast. But I will continue to use my laptop for the most time. Youtube is mostly what I watch on the ps4 broswer.

WiiU Gamepad browsing is the most pleasant browsing experience outside of my PC I ever had.

If MS improved smartglass integration with XBox browsing, I would use it alot more.

PS4 browser has the highest HTML5 score. Its really fast and works good with youtube too.

I second that. I hate using my ipad for browsing but use the gamepad all the time.

Technically, my phone's web browser is, in theory, suppose to be better than the wiiU, but when in practice, I do find that the wiiU's browser to be much better. (Galaxy S4 + Chrome)

With that being said, the only reason I like using the wiiU's browser is because the gamepad makes it so fast and easy to use/type vs on a ps4/x1/ps3/360, since using the controller is a lot more tedious. The 3ds's web browser is a joke imo even though it can be used to view pictures and etc, the ps vita's web browser is great by comparison to the 3ds which is probably the nicest thing I have said about the vita in the last few months...

But, to answer your question, I think the traffic will go down for consoles just for the sake of convenience. It is so much faster (imo) to search something up on a smart phone than on a ps4/x1 and there are several devices that lets you stream your smartphone screen to your TV

The Wii U is the only system I've ever had a positive experience using the web browser for, and that includes using a Dreamcast with a keyboard. The Wii U touch screen works great and is just super-convenient and quick to browse around. The only thing I wish it had was flash video capability.

1 main thing to be remembered when comparing the 3ds browser to the one in the Vita tho, In any 3ds game you can return to the home menu and open the web browser and look up stuff which might be related to the game you're playing (if stuck on a puzzle etc). A load of the games on the Vita if not all of them will close a game if it's running while you try to open the browser. Sure it's a fast nice enough way to surf the net, but in terms of what you might want a net browser for in a console it fails having to close a game before opening the browser.
