Forums - Nintendo - WiiU Reaches 5m, congrats thread

BUT did Nintendo announce it? Did it happen if they didn't announce it?

Jokes aside, here's to the next 5m!

That is a frustrating phenominon I seem to run into on other sites. There seems to be an awful lot of bias against VGChartz and their perceived lack of accuracy. Problem is, there is literally no other site that even bothers trying to come up with comprehensive worldwide sales data. Not a single one that I've ever run across. This site has it's accuracy issues, but the numbers are always at least "ballpark close", I'm sure, and at least the site bothers trying. I for one am glad it exists as a point of reference, but for some folks, you mention that you got your sales figures from VG Chartz, and they balk because "those people just make shit up".

Right.

Congrats to Wii U. Never feel regret to buy it when it was launched in Holland with 349Euro. And this year, I bought my second Wii U with WW HD bundle pack. Love the controller. Oh YEAH~!!!!

I contributed to the next 5M consoles by buying it last week .

Yeah, congrats. Great achievement.

I'd also like to use this opportunity to congratulate the Washington Redskins for their 2013 campaign. They won a few games.

Damn your sarcasm...

Good to see, that the WiiU went from bad to OK. Let's hope it can at least mantain some 'OK' sales in the next year.

You know what they say, the first five million is the hardest.

It's not ok when their expectation for the Wiiu for this finicial forcast are 9 million by March.

Heck Nintendo expect the WiiU to hit these number last March.

Lol. If Nintendo can really sell that 9 Million forcast, i would call its sales truly "amazing". OK wouldn't cross my mind then.

The Wii U is now just doing OK. It got  a healthy holiday increase - something others didn't even think would happen. Marketing and a big title are pushing sales up from a deep end. Nintendo is doing better with the Wii U.

We'll see how it stays. But "OK" Sales seems a good description of it's holiday sales IMO.

Hopefully it doesn't take them another 14 months to get to ten million.
