300k is most likely Wii U's highest selling point of 2013. I would be suprised if next week has more than this week though.

Man, people don't know how to put handheld versus console sales into perspective.

I don't think "handheld versus console" is really much of an issue when comparing PS4 and 3DS sales. DS and PS2 are the highest selling devices of each category and ended up shipping almost the same amount.

The problem with comparing sales right now in my opinion is that one of those two just released, which means it's still priced pretty highly compared to the previous gen, has a really small catalogue of games with most of it's expected major titles missing and has very limited supply.

Doesn't the fact that the handheld will be siginificantly cheaper for most if not all of the generation and the fact that handhelds are way more conducive to having more than one per household kind of make it apples to oranges?  Most consoles can't keep up with the DS, it took everything the top selling console of all time could muster just to stay barely ahead, and that's with utter domination of the industry.  Especially in this thread, it just reeks of people trying to spin the PS4 clear win this week into a nonevent.

You mean like when the PS4 outsold the X1 which released in 13 regions and the PS4 only released in the USA/Canada? Or has that been conveniently forgotten?

At the end of the gen, I think people will be surprised by how well Wii U actually does. All this doom and "GC numbers talk" will be moot.
