No, for me a fanboy is someone who says that, for exaple, a PS4 game is much much better then a Wii U game. And if I disagree with someone, that ok, I even like that. I love peoples opinions ;)

If you actually love opinions, you should accept that for some people Knack is more fun or more refreshing. Quality is subjective no matter what everyone says. I read a review from a certain website on Knack and the reviwer gave it a 4/10 and hated it, but then said that his (or someone else's) children loved it and even showed a video of them playing it. It's possible that it's more fun for people around 7 or something. Who knows? But to call this people "fanboys" for calling it better, is by all means unfounded and unncessary. Even if you have played AND beaten both games.

I had fun playing Sonic 2006(seriously). That doesn't change the fact the game is absolutely atrocious.

Oh, I don't disagree with you at all. My point is, whether good or bad, as long as it's fun, it shouldn't matter. Why call it a shit game when you haven't even played it properly just because it's outselling your favourite in one freaking region?

I'm pretty sure the attach rate of Super Mario 3D World is higher than the Galaxies. Which is normal considering the install base is smaller and with fewer good games out there.

That Knack outsells Super Mario 3D World in the UK says a lot more about the tastes of the British if you ask me. Quite strange considering a lot of good tv shows, movies and music come from that little island.

Lol @ people thinking that a mediocre piece of trash could outsell a mainline IP from the House of Mario

@Razordragon case in point.

wii u is still doomed.

Well, it was the UK only where Knack outsold Mario2.5World, & it happened again that Knack is once again outselling Mario the week ending dec 28th in the UK apparently.

People sayng "Flop" & "Bomb" where refering to the fact that Mario had little affect in boosting Wii U console sales.  Mario could sell 5 million in the next week, but if no new consoles sell, then was it a system mover?  A system mover is what Nintendo needs & what people said Mario would be, but it seems to have had little affect in that department.

If SSB & MK don't prove to be huge system sellers then The Wii U is cooked.

Mario is a 2.5D game in the same way GTA V is a top down 2D game. A bad and overrated one at that, but apparently always scores super high on Metacritic lol.

Anyway, Mario 3D platformers have never been huge system sellers. They never have huge openingweeks like some games on the PS3/Xbox360(most of which aren't very good at all like Fifa and CoD). They sell well in the long run. Wii U doesn't need one good game, but multiple good games like Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros 4, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Zelda, 2D Mario games, etc

Right, since Pikmin 3, Sonic Lost World, Mario 3D World, Lego City, Zelda WW HD, TW101, & two 2d New Mario/Luigi games have created SO much demand for the Wii U.  It's down to the big two games coming out next year, if they don't reverse the Wii U's situation dramaticaly then yes, the Wii U is cooked & a new Zelda in 2016 won't have any effect since the system will be on life support at that point.  Honestly if that is what happens than Zelda may just be pushed to what ever platform Nintendo choose to develope for next.

I said good games. Sonic Lost World isn't exclusive and is horrible like every Sonic game released after the Dreamcast. Zelda Wind Waker is a remake and not a new and original game. TW101 is average and a niche game. The two 2D Mario/Luigi games are lifeless rehashes and are quite honestly not very good. I said GOOD games.

Anyway, the only reason I included the 2D Mario games is because they always sell like hotcakes. Who knows how big the sales would be if they actually put some effort into them and make a unique 2.5D Mario platformer with a lot of interaction between fore- and background. They also need a new art style and better graphics.

I don't believe the comparison was made to say that Knack would do better in lifetime sales. I believe the comparison was made to say that a game as horrible as Knack was even able to top Mario on launch week. Mario games normally sell over half a million on launch week in the US. 3D World only did 150k in the US. That's not saying anything about the quality of the game (I have it and I love it), but it's reflective of the grim situation the Wii U is in.

thread/

Indeed that is the point.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

History will remember knack as a cobblestone on the path to Mushroom Kingdom.

They grow up so fast :,)

Knack is doing pretty bad given there are few options on the PS4 and that game was hyped.

I found it funny people were boasting about Knack in the UK. It accounted for a small number of sales and we all knew Mario was going to outperform it down the road.
