Replace the kinect with a mic and drop the price

Games and the system itself seem to focused around the mic rather than the camera. Sell the Kinect seperate for those that want to video chat and stuff. There's like what? One Kinect only game coming?

It comes bundled with a headset and mic. You have two options for voice communication. Microsoft allowing people to make decisions for themselves is a hilarious thought though.

It comes bundled with a headset and mic. You have two options for voice communication. Microsoft allowing people to make decisions for themselves is a hilarious thought though.

You can't do voice commands with a headset, can you? I think they should sell the Kinect separately and bundle a mic strictly for voice commands (along with the standard headset).

Its not going to happen. Its the best selling xbox to date. It being paet of xbox one will further Iimprove ita uses by all developers for apps and games. Microsoft dont need to react at all to sony. In 5 years a games machine alone wont be winning the sales. Its clear microsoft are aiming far different than sony consumer and technology wise. Whilst building and giving more new ips and more exclusives than they have ever done in the past. 

 

And they just posted their biggest quater profit ever in the history of microsoft. They are clearly a much better financial company these days than sony could only dream of. Microsoft will not react to ps4. They dont need to. 

I agree it is too early to cut the price. But I have to say the profit that they posted is not coming soley because of theri gaming division. As far as the game front goes  they actually have been reacting to Sony and if Sony pulls to far ahead then yes they will need to react to that as well. Just my opinion...

Voice commands are not essential. You can use the Xbox snap without voice commands. All it is is a side bar. Its much easier to just pin everything to the main dashboard that you like. Its just as fast.

 Most of the things that Microsoft ever does are reactions to Sony.

A plain console version is very likely. You'll see what I mean when Microsoft is forced to do it. I admire your enthusiasm for their product though. Take what I say with a grain of salt if you like, but they will be forced to give people a choice because they cannot just drop the price of the Xbox One so soon. They want to stay as close to Sony as possible. If Sony pulls ahead by over two mil they will freak out.
