XB1 has sold great, but it's too soon to call it a trend.  The Xbox 360 was in much lower supply, taking 3 to 4 months to ship 1 million units to the US when it launched.  It's hard to tell if the XB1 has a better start thanks to it's appeal or thanks to it's stock availability.

The 360 launched with $299 Core and $399 Pro models, so I think we'll see the $499 XB1 have a harder time in the long run.

I think we'll get XB1 Core for $399 with no Kinect sooner rather than later.

This notion that Xbox One will have a Kinectless is sku not going to happen. Kinct has cpurpose built chips on the motherboard, and is Blead into the OS of Xbo One.  It is Xbox One.

I think Xbox One will be $399 by fall 2014, which will coincide with the release of Halo 5.

No reason to drop xbox one price in the USA or possibly UK but mainland Europe is not looking good for Microsoft. I think a price reduction will come this year possibly quite soon there. However it doesn't have to be a price reduction it can be a game bundle or it could be 2 years of xbox live bundled in etc. There are lots of ways to add value rather than reduce price. However that said I think for Europe it probably has to be a price reduction.

My price for an Xbox one is £249 max so I don't expect to get one this year. Perhaps early 2015. I'd only be buying it to play exclusive Xbox one games and at this point there are no such games I want anyway. It's probably going to be about a year before there are actually about half a dozen xbox one exclusive games that I want to justify buying the console. on PS4 I only want Killzone currently.

If that EU figure for XB1 VGChartz has is true, I'm really surprised. The console is pretty well supplied even in the UK. Is there anything on the near horizon for it that'll help stimulate Q1/Q2 hardware sales here? I really hope it doesn't drop off a cliff like Wii U did. But I do think the price is just too high.

I'm with you on the £250 price point for it. I really want to play games like Dead Rising 3, but having already got a PS4 and Wii U, I can't justify the current price tag just for a handful of exclusives. I do think it'll definitely fall in line with PS4 pricing this year.

Its not going to happen. Its the best selling xbox to date. It being paet of xbox one will further Iimprove ita uses by all developers for apps and games. Microsoft dont need to react at all to sony. In 5 years a games machine alone wont be winning the sales. Its clear microsoft are aiming far different than sony consumer and technology wise. Whilst building and giving more new ips and more exclusives than they have ever done in the past. 

And they just posted their biggest quater profit ever in the history of microsoft. They are clearly a much better financial company these days than sony could only dream of. Microsoft will not react to ps4. They dont need to. 

Hows it hurting. Its so far the best selling xbox to date. Ive posted videos here after properly setting kinect up, it works great. Kinect 2.0 is much better than previous kinect, and has already changed how I use entertainment and navigation. Way faster and easier to use. 

It works for multimedia functions but it isn't essential. I've been saying for a while that Microsoft is forcing it on people and most just dont get it. It's all well and good that you like it and I like it to a certain degree as well, but this is definitely being forced upon people because they do not trust people to naturally adopt the second iteration as they did the first.
