There's nothing stopping them from releasing PS1 style Final Fantasy games on handhelds alongside main entries like Final Fantasy XV. I think it'd be quite a good idea. I wouldn't mind another Crisis Core style spin-off either.

I don't really know where the FF8 "magic" is. You-don't-understand-me emo protagonist, empty antagonist, retarded cast of characters, a mercenary school that looks like a mall, the dumbest plot of the series and a magic system thats boring as hell. This one can stay in the past.

Let's hope they make the Bravely Default brand something like Final Fantasy was in it's "glorious" days.
While Bravely Second will be a direct Sequel to BD, they could make BD2 with a whole new setting. Just like FF7 or FF8 didn't have that "Fantasy"-feeling FF4 or FF9 had.

While I enjoy the format of the older Final Fantasy games tremendously, I still would prefer Square-Enix to continue focusing on home consoles for their new Final Fantasy entries. With that said, I don't mind seeing new, handheld franchises that continue some of the spirit of the older Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest titles such as Bravely Default.

Sort of off-topic, I would love to see another third-person perspective, tactical turn-based game in the vein of Valkyria Chronicles, but with perhaps a different setting.

FFVII originally costed 45 millions. As with kingdom hearts they would probably have to code it from zero, and assets would need to be remade from zero too (Or you think it would sell with original graphics ? lol)

And that wouldn't sell millions. Fans are whore. They would complain about cloud looking even more gay and boycott the game.
