That's good! If they want to fight human trafficking, they'd better target it properly and not shoot at the big picture and hope they hit the target. If a person wants to sell his/her body, it should be possible. As far as I'm concerned, prostitution is an equally good job as any other.

Enforcing the constitution is always helpful. It's a shield from government overreach.

More or less this. The markets for trafficked persons (unlike trafficked drugs) are rather different than the core market for legalized prostitution. Unlike with drugs, legalization tends to make things worse, not better.

That is the challenge, freedom versus those that abuse freedom to exploit others.  Honestly, not sure how you manage it given the demand.  Similar feeling on drugs, allow lesser stuff (marijuana) and focus on hard stuff (heroine and meth).  Not  aperfect solution by any means, but picking our battle might help the situation.

In the UK its perfectly legal if its called "Escort" , its basically the same thing but fancier.

I will admit that I am in favour of decriminalizing many illicit drugs, but still wonder if legalized prostitution will prevent things like Robert Pickton from happening again. (He killed upwards of 49 women just outside of Vancouver, most of them prostitutes.) Legalization may or may not stop pimps and human trafficking, but I'm more concerned about whether or not it will stop or reduce prostitute murders.

Not like I would use a brothel or anything but it's got nothing to do with the state if people want to use them or work in them, persuming they are safe.

And also, like drugs it is another area that with legalisation, would deny gang cartels of revenue. Thus reducing crime and make society safer. It's a win-win.

Prostitute murders are a thing because of prostitutes' status at the margins of society, just like killing the homeless or the mentally ill.

The question we all need to be asking is how many people *really* choose to sell their bodies for money if they have better options. Of course, that leeches into the messy question of how many people on the other end of a camera in porno videos are doing this with such a full degree of consent.

The high-class hooker is certainly a thing, but how representative is that of the average sex worker (even the average non-trafficked sex worker), much like how wide is the difference between well-known pornstars vs the countless interchangeable women all over the internet?

More people gets to see tits more easily? Well shit...
