9 and 10?

They're lying to themselves. That's essentially a perfect experience... At launch...

9 and 10 =/= perfect. I dont know who came up with that bullshit. On top of that perfect to someone cpuld mean that it plays knack

10/10 isn't perfect? Yes, it is. 9/10 is near perfect... If we can't argree on the system, why is it there?

Perfect to someone could mean it plays Knack. Someone isn't 39%.

I don't think you're getting what they're trying to tell you.

The poll is for satisfaction. You're saying because console doesn't have xyz, it has affected my experience so I rate it 8. Another person says I don't care for xyz, I only care for abc and I'm extremely satisfied. 10.

I get that. The consoles are not complete yet... They'll be twice as good, if not more in a few years. You can't be more satisfied than 10/10...

It's a measure of the user's current experience with the product.

How can they experience what isn't there?

Exactly, they can't! So why would their satisfaction rating account for something that they've never tried yet i.e. the features and games that haven't come which you're talking about and how would they know if their satisfaction will stay the same, increase or decrease. You're somehow trying to incorporate "what's coming" into the equation which is not what the poll is about.

This is why the purpose of the poll in simple terms is: How satisfied are you with your purchase so far? I am 10/10 satisfied because it does everything I want from it. I am 8/10 satisfied because it's great but external harddrive blah blah is important to me so I'm slightly disappointed. Notice how the first guy didn't care about the harddrive.

And you're also making that mistake by thinking ratings given by media outlets are imperical. An 8/10 game by ign just means the reviewer thinks it's 8/10. Users can have a 1/10 experience with it or 10/10 depending on what is important to them.

In this poll 10/10 is not perfect. It means extremely satisfied. I am extremely satisfied so I would go with 9 or 10 for sure.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

You're missing my point though I get yours. I understand some people would be that satisfied. We should not be. We know whats coming. A 9 or 10 out of 10 is an uneducated look at the launch. We can play better games on older consoles or PC.

Some voting 10/10 is ok, but all that did? Over half? Bullshit. I mean that for both consoles. More satisfactory experiences, which we have experienced, are elsewhere.

I don't think there was any reason to post this except for bragging rights. In the end both sides are enjoying the consoles

My thoughts exactly.  This is mostly masturbatory purchase justification.  There is not even ONE launch game on either console that would cause that kind of satisfaction.  Silly poll.

All hail the great General Aladeen. Your opinion is the only opinon. We citizens of Wadiya have no opinion except yours.

I find you post to be very Aladeen.

Aren't you excited when you buy a new console ? I mean most people forgive anything at launch, wich is the main reason lots of launch games on the previous gens were given ultra high scores despite being completely forgotten 1 year later.

At this point I roll my eyes at anyone that claims to be extremely satisfied with either platform.

I am sorry after playing your XB1 you cannot see how anyone is extremely satisfied. I am extremely satisfied with my PS4 and I can see how others could be too.

I am. In fact, I'm only a single achievement from completing Ryse, some 68 or so achievements. Still, I can see past that and recognize that Ryse isn't a 9 or 10 out of 10 game. I just don't let my excitement control my judgement.... On this topic anyway! : -)

Sorry, I'm not as easy to please.

Playing many good games over years made me satisfied with past consoles. If you're EXTREMELY satisfied with a few decent exclusives and some ports of fatigued IPs, well good on you.
