Exactly, they can't! So why would their satisfaction rating account for something that they've never tried yet i.e. the features and games that haven't come which you're talking about and how would they know if their satisfaction will stay the same, increase or decrease. You're somehow trying to incorporate "what's coming" into the equation which is not what the poll is about.
This is why the purpose of the poll in simple terms is: How satisfied are you with your purchase so far? I am 10/10 satisfied because it does everything I want from it. I am 8/10 satisfied because it's great but external harddrive blah blah is important to me so I'm slightly disappointed. Notice how the first guy didn't care about the harddrive.
And you're also making that mistake by thinking ratings given by media outlets are imperical. An 8/10 game by ign just means the reviewer thinks it's 8/10. Users can have a 1/10 experience with it or 10/10 depending on what is important to them.

You're missing my point though I get yours. I understand some people would be that satisfied. We should not be. We know whats coming. A 9 or 10 out of 10 is an uneducated look at the launch. We can play better games on older consoles or PC.
Some voting 10/10 is ok, but all that did? Over half? Bullshit. I mean that for both consoles. More satisfactory experiences, which we have experienced, are elsewhere.

Experience is subjective. "We can play better games", but better for whom? We have no idea what kind of games these people like. For me Bioshock 2 was 10/10, but for someone else it could be 1/10 because they just hate FPS. You're using your personal satisfactory measuring meter and applying it as a standard to everyone else. This ignores that other people are their own entity.
Maybe the poll is poisoned by fanboys who just voted 10/10 for the heck of it, but we cannot say that a user cannot be extremely satisfied 10/10 with their purchase and if 1 person can be....then many people just like him will vote the same.

If 1 can be many people could also is true but very, very unlikely. Did even you believe that as you typed it?

Your point is most people who purchased the hardware yet are not casuals, but are core gamers especially those who participated in this online gamespot poll. And since core gamers have larger expectations normally, 40% is too high for this group to be extremely satisfied.
Your reasoning is sound, but we can't go searching the hearts and minds of people. Maybe the poll is skewed, or maybe it isn't. Maybe these people didn't spend enough time on the console for flaws to surface or maybe they did. We would never know really.
