This awesome trailer saved what was otherwise a horrible Direct for me.

How was it horrible?

Zelda Dynasty Warriors type game.

Funky Kong item shop in DKCR.

Rosalina in Smash Bros.

NES Remix and Dr. Luigi for eShop.

Sweet Mario Kart trailer to go with the sweet SB reveal trailer.

What was not to like? What were you hoping for? Star Fox, F-Zero, or some other game they may or may not be making?  Just curious.

Me personally, this is the first (console) Mario Kart that actually has me excited since Mario Kart 64. The portable ones have always been good, but in this man's opinion, Double Dash was garbage, and while Wii had some things going for it, the unbalanced nature of the items and bikes, along with the face-palm worthy lack of regular "Free for all" Battle Mode, still make it frustrating and underwhelming. This is the first MK game in a long time that REALLY seems like the series has finally taken a much needed leap. The track designs actually look imaginative and awesome. The inclusion of baby characters I still personally think is a waste of roster space, but I can accept it seeing as how the bikes no longer have the bullshit wheelie advantage. Hopefully the items are more balanced this time, and hopefully REAL battle mode is back (they can keep Team Battle also, it's neat, but I want the real thing). If they can do that, and make sure I can play as my boy Shy Guy? I'll be a happy camper come this Spring.

The game looks amazing. I don't get why SM3DW didn't look this nice.

I think they could do better than 3D World, but to be perfectly fair, it is a very pretty game, better looking in many ways than Galaxy. It's just a slightly different art stlye, is all. The colors and shades on 3D World are just simpler, more cartoonish. But it's still a great looking game.

I love the lighting in the game, although I haven't seen too much of it, since I don't own it (have played it though). I just think that the art style MK uses looks amazing compared to earlier games in the franchise, and 3D world dissapointed a bit.

Still looks really good, but I feel like the world is still a bit emptier than id like for some reason. Still can't wait to play it.

That cloud themed track is clearly not Sky Garden, let's be serious here, it was already remastered in MKDS and had gaps everywhere.

The desert themed track looks like Dry Dry Desert from Double Dash though.

Kirby now needs to be in Mario Kart, lol.

The frame rate to me looked a little jittery though, perhaps April 2014 isn't going to happen?

I don't think subtle framerate differences are something to look for in youtube videos.  Especially if the game is going to be above 30FPS.

Honestly, for almost the whole thing I was sitting there bored out of my mind thinking, "FFS stop wanking on about the 3DS and silly minigames and just show us some quality Wii U stuff". NES remix and Dr. Luigi were dead weight to me, and I don't care for Smash Bros.

Tropical Freeze is in a tad of a conundrum in that  while I'm sure it will be great, and it's my most anticipated game, it just isn't the kind of game mind-blowing trailers are made of.

Thankfully, Mario Kart was pure liquid awesome, making the show worth the grind for me.

They better have Shy Guy in the game.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
