i'd consider it. i'd also consider a vita phone. honestly, vita should have been a phone.
...i need a phone. i like to game. would be nice if i could be both in one. i mean, there are games on the IOs app store but not the kind of game i want. not the kind of input/controls i want. if someone can find a good way to mash them together i'd probably buy.

I promise you the end product would not be what you were hoping for. Not to mention, Nintendo using Android? When hell freezes over!

Nintendo has no beef with Google/Android. They're not a OS/media company, they have no dog in that fight. Android can be customized to Nintendo's hearts content and they've worked with Google before actually.
The Google Maps app for the Wii U was developed jointly by Nintendo and Google, Iwata had a Google higher up for Iwata Asks to talk about it.

I didn't say they had beef, I meant Nintendo would never stray from their own OS, they're far too closeminded for that.
It's ok for something like maps, but there is so much in the OP that Nintendo wouldn't agree to unless new management took over.

You tend to have to do some new things when you're in the tight spot Nintendo is in.
Besides it could still be "their" OS in most ways that they want it to be, Android is completely customizable. And its free to license too, which is a price I think Nintendo would find most agreeable. Designing a new OS from scratch would cost Nintendo a good deal of money.
The key to having Android is that it would give Nintendo access to a bazillion Android apps, so they wouldn't have to do a lot of work in making a feature rich phone (ie: have to go negotiate deals for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, ESPN, CNN, etc. etc. etc. apps). So that saves a lot of headaches and leaves Nintendo to focus on the game-centric aspects of the phone.
