can anyone tell me what does this all mean? like whats going to happen for people like pewdiepie(cant stand him) and others that do gameplay with commentaries are they not going to be able to do it anymore? what happens to all the old copyrighted footage?

           Yes. It means that people who use gameplay footage or music aren't going to be able to make money  off their videos... Classic Game Room  is moving to his website, Angry Joe is not very happy about this, ProJared already has a bunch of Pokemon videos claimed..... A clusterfuck.

Google's UI designers must be some of the worst I know, that's for sure. Every single update to the site interface they've done lately has made the interface worse, usually by making it harder to navigate by putting everything behind unnecessary menus when the site wasn't cluttered to begin with. Well, I think there's one recent update where they actually improved the interface, and that was when they reverted a change they had made just days ago. So yeah, they basically went from good to bad and back to good again.

I'm not sure if I used Youtube much before Google came... Either way, in the recent years, Google has been spoiling Youtube so badly.

Youtube is seriously starting to piss me off.

The new comment system is awful and that whole fiasco with the Persona videos a few months back was pretty disgraceful. Still can't believe the videos or accounts haven't been restored yet.

I avoid youtube like a plague, now. No idea what goes on with my subscriptions unless somebody links me to a video. Hell, somehow I have like 5 youtube accounts, thanks to Google Plus. I don't even know which one has my subscriptions. I actually had a Google Plus account before all of this nonsense. Now, my real name has one, my old name has one, my phone email has one, and I have two more I don't even remember making.

 Good luck with that. You do even know the massive amount of money needed to create youtubes datacenters?

 Youtube pre-purchase was bleeding money no-stop. This whole content ID thing did not start with this videogame channels getting videos claimed. It all started with the music videos being uploaded without any permission. The music industry forced google to sign a contract and create VEVO, some other music labels have thier own systems though. People are reacting like if this is googles' doing, but their position is simple. Keep those video game channels and getting sued, or claiming everything they can to avoid getting sued? It makes sense right?

I'm thinking the same. Youtube is moving away from what it should be, YOUtube. It's becoming a new tv channel instead. 

If any of the console makers want to make their own video service for their systems this is an excellent point to start at. They would probably be kickstarted by youtubers wanting to release their videos without this stuff.
