Forums - Microsoft - Who else likes Major Nelson?

I like him. I even allowed him to take a picture with me.

He is a gamer first, radio/PR guy second. He is one of the other reasons I went Xbox and not Playstation. His podcaust are a good way to learn about what you have, more things about it, and how to enjoy it more. I remember Nintendo having something similar on a Wii Chanel.

I amazed how much grief people give him. He could say he put his left shoe on first and people would complain and cry conspiracy theories. I think he handles the pressure quite well. I think most people would become homicidal maniacs if they were treated that way.

(And I'm not just saying that because he might swing by here on occasion.)

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

The only MS exec I'll tune into is Phil Spencer.

Your not serious, are you ? O_O

Of course I am.

He doesn't come off as a douche to me. He sounds cool for the most part unless I'm forgetting something.

It's all subjective.  I remember having some live threads during E3 and some of the people I liked, a few hated, and visa versa.   Or some popular singers people like, where I think they make my ears bleed.

I've never met Reggie but he seems like he would be an intince at times, but generally OK guy.

I personally don't care about any of them... At the end of the day... they just want to act like they are friendly only to sell you their product...

This.

the whole berating people who criticized their top-down imposed policies,
claiming it was impossible or alot of work to change them,
only to fold and promptly retract them kind of ruined me on him.
there's only so much hot air I can stand, kinect hype just starts to smell bad
when that's all it is: hype, and no actual amazing uses of it for games.
besides, i only have so much mental space to keep track of imaginary characters,
and with the season it is that has to turn to santa and his elves,
not the hypothetical audience looking for kinect cameras to use voice control for their cable box.
when all this discussion is taking place in the frame work of GAME fan sites and media,
that is the audience that should be addressed, not some hypothetical non-gamer audience
that has secretly been waiting all along to spend $500 on a goofy new way to control their TV.
i mean, if that's such a huge demand for that, it's alot easier to build voice control into TVs and cable box's,
many of which are being built around Android or similar OS's, and it doesn't really cost $500 for that
capability, which MS is using for a 2nd rate gaming CPU/GPU and upgraded motion tracking camera.

you did ask

He's cool with me.

He has charisma and seems to have a genuine interest in games. That's good enough for me.

Loop.

Not really he is literally just a PR mouth piece, so I distrust him immediately. I much prefer hearing from people like Phil Spencer or Shuhei, people that actively work on there product.
