the whole berating people who criticized their top-down imposed policies,
claiming it was impossible or alot of work to change them,
only to fold and promptly retract them kind of ruined me on him.
there's only so much hot air I can stand, kinect hype just starts to smell bad
when that's all it is: hype, and no actual amazing uses of it for games.
besides, i only have so much mental space to keep track of imaginary characters,
and with the season it is that has to turn to santa and his elves,
not the hypothetical audience looking for kinect cameras to use voice control for their cable box.
when all this discussion is taking place in the frame work of GAME fan sites and media,
that is the audience that should be addressed, not some hypothetical non-gamer audience
that has secretly been waiting all along to spend $500 on a goofy new way to control their TV.
i mean, if that's such a huge demand for that, it's alot easier to build voice control into TVs and cable box's,
many of which are being built around Android or similar OS's, and it doesn't really cost $500 for that
capability, which MS is using for a 2nd rate gaming CPU/GPU and upgraded motion tracking camera.
