So demand in Europe actually does seem like it may be Wii U-like. It's entirely possible that the USA (North America perhaps) ends up being Xb one's only genuinely strong market. |
Uh... UK *IS* Xbox brand's market in Europe for the most part, doing bad on mainland Europe is not a surprise.
Doing bad in UK means they lost what was their silver lining in Europe.
And they haven't launched in Scandinavia which was perhaps their next best region of Europe.
Meanwhile USA is no longer their playground, with PS4 doing great.
They will still sell alot of consoles, Australia seems good for them so far, but their position seems to be starting out weaker,
and the dynamics of the market seem set to only tilt further in Sony's favor.
PS3 eventually barely outsold 360, I expect to see 2:1 advantage to Sony by mid-point of this gen (65/35 split between the big 2).
Especially if MS does not drop the Kinect from the SKU... That is a physical/optical part that will be much less subject to manfacturing process improvements,
compared to CPU/GPU memory, so that $100 of the price just cannot be reduced as much, while the CPU/GPU will be similar to Sony
