Forums - Gaming - what makes a Nintendo so accessible?

Nintendo are master craftsman when it comes to game design. They are a throwback to arcades where games had to be accessible and fun the moment the token was put in. Sony and M$ are not games companies.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Nintendo is so accessible because they are very, very good at what they are doing. When you play a game with excellent game design, you don't notice that the game is there, it just flows. You pick up the controller, and run and jump without having to read a manual.

You might have heard people taking shots at Nintendo for being 'simplistic' or similar. It's always laughable, because what elevates Nintendo as the best video game developer in the world is just that. Their ability to make games that are very easy to pick up, yet keep you entertained for hours, weeks, years and decades.

As Albert Einstein put it: “Any fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius-and a lot of courage-to move in the opposite direction.”

I believe that Nintendo is the only company who really cares about their games, they would never release a videogame unfinished like EA!!! And they only release new games for a franchise when they really have new ideas for that game in order to develop something new instead of just release the same old game with just new cars and a higher number like Sony with Gran Tourismo 6!!! Nintendo is all about the quality of games and for them game experiences are the most important thing and not 1080p or 60FPS or more graphic power!!! Killzone: Shadow Fall is looking awesome, but in the end it is another boring shooter with no innovation with just better graphics!!!

the games.

Great game design

Nintendo is run by older men, so they know what appeals to them :P Seriously though, they have games for everyone. That's their thing.

So what does your 65 year old dad think about the 3D effect with the 3D Depth Slider all the way up?

(because you can adjust the volume of 3D)

He actually likes it (I hated it when I had a 3DS and would turn it off completely). I dont know if he has it on full or not though

The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.
