Where do you live? I thought it would be WW this week. What I noticed though is that here in Belgium blockbuster movies are nearly every time one weak earlier in theaters (wednesday releases) and if the release is the same WW then there are still possibilities to get to an "avant-premiere" starting from the saturday however that they only play it once a day until official release. I'm happy though since it was my first marathon and midnight premiere and there were a lot of students from my university there too which made the evening perfect :) Still I got home at 4.30 which normally I wouldn't do troughout the week but I know for sure that I'll attend the event next year with part 3.

But I don't want it to reach LOTR levels, its the hobbit a children's book not LOTR , its funny and quirky adventure, here and back again, LOTR is more "Epic"

Well, this one was towards the middle and ending already much darker in every way than the first one. And the set-pieces and certain parts in the story reached those epic levels that LOTR had. The thing is that they now found the perfect way to put funny things in those set-pieces and story telling without it being annoying if you are seeing the movie hoping it to be in the same (more grittier) style as LOTR. Kinda hard to explain but everyone needs to give this one a shot. 

I'll be watching it on the 13th. It's not really my thing, but it's a day out with my friends, so...

I want to see it, too, but here in Japan it comes out on February 28. >:/
What the hell are they thinking? The whole world gets it in mid-December, but Japan has to wait almost 3 months?
