Awesome thread to read.  One of the most obvious pieces of satire I've ever seen in my life and yet so many people victimized.

Anyway, on topic, I do wonder how many different game-play types will get the Mario skin treatment before it's all said and done.  It's hard to blame Nintendo, though, when so many Nintendo fans will ignore a new IP unless it stars a plumber.  W101 would have sold millions more if it was about Mario and had 90% less story.

You heard him guys. Let's just stop buying their amazing games that we love, cause he doesn't like Nintendo'sway of doing things.

Honestly, I though this thread would be another doom thread, which is at least reasonable at this point, but this is, quite frankly arrogancy at it's finest. You have no right to tell us what to play.

And we're not blind. We are people who enjoy quality.

90% more story obviously equates to 90% more guns, blood and grey though. I wouldn't want to play a game like that, in fact, I'd rather kill myself.

Indeed.  You speak the truth, my friend, especially about teh grey.  It doesn't even count as a game unless the color palette is one very bright shade each of red, blue, yellow, and green.

I went for a walk in the woods the other day.  Nothing but brown and green.  I threw up in my mouth a little.  Screw reality for not looking like plastic.  What the hell is Mother Nature thinking?

why not just enjoy the games we perfer and leave it at that?

I respect your opinion concerning the mario platforming games.

As for the sports games, I think it's important for Nintendo to offer some and I find the Mario skin quite appropriate for the arcade gameplay that Nintendo is aiming for in these games, just like how they use their franchises characters for their fighting game (Smash). When it comes to racing games, hopefully Ninty will revive F-Zero to offer an alternative to Mario Kart. Both in racing and sports games, I think they should keep their focus on offering the best arcarde gameplay experience and let the simulations to Sony/Microsoft. 

When you say you want an actual RPG from Nintendo, I guess you mean one that doesn't use the Mario universe, but they did that with Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii and now X is coming to Wii U.

Not so sure about a Zelda-like game without Link and a Heavy Rain kind of game, I guess we'll have to wait and see what Miyamoto new IP is to see a new genre of game on Ninty's home console!
