Well duh all they do is release Mario Zelda pokemon

Yes.

Absolutely.

There are literally 2 types of games Nintendo releases: Either  Mario games or  Zelda games.

Nothing else.

Silly Orniletter, Nintendo makes three games. Pokemon as well.

Oh ya look at those visual upgrades lol...This is completely comparable to WW's difference.

...and yet, i've played WW long before wiiU was even a twinkle in nintendo's eye.   fuck,  why bother even listing NSMBU on your list.  DeusEx directors cut and Mass effect 3 special edition both scored better and are "exclusive".    right?  riiiight...

Lol so WW HD is the same as including the exact same game on another console with the DLC included, which was already available on that other console...its clear we have different definitions of what a port is.

we don't disagree on the meaning of the word "port".  we disagree on the meaning of "exclusive".  nintendo did a great job on the visuals, the game is still on gamecube...

Your entire basis is flawed. Games don´t start at an imaginary 100% and then you take points away for certain flaws or lack of features (YUCK!)

You review a game as an experience/ a piece of entertainment and then write your oppinion.

Or that is how good journalists do it.

Yes they do, because they seem 100% as technocally perfect. Whens the last time you saw a reviewer mention a game doesnt get beyond a score of 50% because its lacking features present in other games, but its perfect for everything it has? NEVER. it means 100% was set for that game and marks were not deducted for lack of features other games have, whereas the other game with those features may have been great but not perfect so it got marks deducted.

And if reviews are to be used comparatively, they must be objective, not subjective, so its your basis that is flawed.

At the end of the day the Xbone and PS4 will muster up a far more respectable games library whether its a first party exclusive or 3rd party games just like they did during the 7th gen.

Metacritic and review scores are subjective and in no way objective, if you need to see a score of 93 to enjoy a game that's up to you.
I guess specific user just like to put weight on the metacritic system.

What are the current top 4? Are we including handhelds?

1. SM3DW

2. WW HD

3. Pikmin 3

4. NSMBU

if re-releases count then flower already destroyed your prediction.

Flower is a straight port, WW HD actually has significant changes, not only to its visuals but added content.

lol.   sorry bro but you just made this whole thing laughable.  wind waker is on gamecube then released on wiiU with visual upgrades but then you go on to dismiss flower which also got a visual upgrade.  SSB is on 3DS and you brought it up in the OP as a "guarenteed top rated exclusive" but then you go on to dismiss titanfall as not exclusive.

rationalize things however you want but you've already failed.  you've already had to bend the rules to try and make your argument and your thread is a joke.

This.

Next thread!

Thanks!

So let's look at this. Super Mario 3D World is safe. That's 1/4. Games like Bayonetta, X, and Smash could all score above 90, based on their predecessors. Donkey Kong and Mario Kart could also hit 90+. And a new Zelda would most definitely top 90.

The main competition, I think, is Titanfall, Uncharted 4 (if it launches next year), The Last Guardian (again, if it launches), and some games yet to be announced. I don't think Halo 5 or infamous will hit 90.

I'm going to guess Nintendo will have two of the four games.

Titanfall - 94

Super Mario 3D World - 93

Super Smash Bros. - 92

Uncharted 4 - 91

But who knows? It's probably way too early to tell. That Wii U lineup for 2014 is crazy good though :)

I think a remake should be a complete overhaul of the original. I don't think an HD upgrade, a few new items, and an extra difficulty mode should count.

There is far more changed than you think (I get it you haven´t played it )

The grand majority of textures was redone, they threw the old lighting system out the window... they changed more than any other HD remake I could think of.

Again, it isn´t a full on Remake, but calling it a port is doing it a disservice.

Once again, a graphical upgrade isn't enough for me to consider it a remake. No I haven't played it, I've played the original and have no interest in shelling out $300 to play it again. I guess we should just agree to disagree since it's clear we define a remake on different terms.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Funny how Metacritic all of a sudden matters. Sounds about right.

When you don't have the sales, talk about Metacritic.  When you don't have the Metacritic rating, talk about sales.

pretty much

Our definition of port is causing us to disagree on the meaning of exclusive.  I consider Flower on PS4 the same game on PS3 with no significant changes, but WW has its visuals completely overhauled and has added content, which was not previously available and that makes its a remake in my book.  Its clear were not gonna agree, since we define these things differently.

Nintendo games are not rated in the same way other major AAA titles are rated. Mario is rated in the mario scale, reviewers always say is the same thing peach gets captured then you go through 8 worlds of platforming goodness and beat bowser 9.5 out of 10. Mario is always rated on gameplay alone while other games are rated on every single thing. Some have great gameplay but a not so good story it gets an 8.5 out of ten. Some may have an awesome story but weak gameplay 9 out 10. So yeah if this continues nintendo will have the highest rated exclusives.
