Forums - Gaming - Prediction: One Year From Now Nintendo Will Still Have All Top Rated Next Gen Exclusives

Nintendo games are not rated in the same way other major AAA titles are rated. Mario is rated in the mario scale, reviewers always say is the same thing peach gets captured then you go through 8 worlds of platforming goodness and beat bowser 9.5 out of 10. Mario is always rated on gameplay alone while other games are rated on every single thing. Some have great gameplay but a not so good story it gets an 8.5 out of ten. Some may have an awesome story but weak gameplay 9 out 10. So yeah if this continues nintendo will have the highest rated exclusives.

lol Mario scale

I see what you're talking about but you have to take in account the genre, we don't really expect much story from any platformer.

My prediction is that yes, it will. I also pedict it won't matter and Wii-U will be on life support and sitting on shelves. Nothing is going to save that console. It's GameCube all over again.

Well, if you can't count Titanfall for not being an exclusive, then you can't count Super Smash Bros. either, since it's not an exclusive.

We still don't know what is getting released next year
There are so many hidden Projects

I don't think anyone accused Rayman Legends of having a great story, and still it got 90/100 on metacritic.

EDIT: Iceland beat me to it...

Is it possible? Sure, why not. If it does, though, who really gives a damn?

Are they all going to be the same types of games? How many people really go, "OMG I don't like this genre that much BUT this game HAS A 9.4 META! I'll take it over a game in a genre I do like with a slightly lower Meta!" It's a waste of time to even think about. People who like Military FPS games will take a rehash of CoD any day of the week over a critically acclaimed platformer. People who like Nintendo platformers will take a rehash of Mario any day of the week over a critically acclaimed shooter. What is even the point of the comparison?

It's just a rather sad bragging point, for the most part.

Aren't we forgetting a small company called Naughty Dog?

How many games can ND make this gen compare to Nintendo?
