Forums - Gaming - Playstation Plus is worth every penny, here is valid proof why.

the enormous high quality of the games will decrease on the ps4. with one more system to support, and the fact that you need ps+ for online multiplayer will lead to this.
i say, seperate the online multiplayer from ps+.

This is one reason I am glad that the service is available on three platforms, and technically, six if you count Mini's(PS3/PSV/PSP), PSOne Games(PSV/PSP/PS3), and PSP games, which do get offered free as well.

Yes, once a month, they usually offer a great high end game.   On the Vita, we got Soul Sacrifice.   A few months ago we got the Resident Evil Gold Edition, Battlefield 3, the list goes on and on.   Look at all the games I mentioned, that is about $110 bucks of Plus memberships, with the first year being the worst at $50

PS+ is awesome, the only crappy thing about it is how the US gets screwed with their game selection in comparison to Europe's.

Europe: Shadow & Ico

US: urrrr... Ico.

No, US got both.

If you enjoy the games/services they offer, the value is real and is there. If you don't, it's not. No different than XBL.

And why would one not enjoy the services and games they offer?

Not everyone cares about online, and/or some people don't care about the limited amount of games they offer?

They gave 6 games two for each platform every month. are they limited? Do you expect to give more than this for 50$ a year?  Also PS+ users gets 10-25% addtional discount on many items every week, what about this? They might not get someting they want everymonth but atleast one month from 12 months in any one platform is enought to justity the price, beacuse a games costs 60$ and we are paying only 50$ for entire year for three platforms.

The games that are discounted in price, not free, are also permanent.   For example if you purchased Rainbow Moon's Cross Save Bundle(Owning it on the PS3), and having a Plus Membership, you pay 6 bucks for the Vita version, and it's permanent.

Again, different strokes for different folks. Sounds like the value is great for you.

Personally I don't own a Vita nor do I plan to, and my PSP has custom firmware so I don't download games off of PSN onto it (and their PSP games have been shit imho anyway), so for me personally I am left with their PS3 compatible offerings and yes, to me they are limited sometimes. Just like Netflix or Hulu can be limited sometimes in selection. And I cannot for the life of me think of a single game I have ever downloaded off of PS+ that cost $60. They are all discounted heavily by the time they are on PS+. Otherwise why on Earth would any publisher agree to put their game on there?

PS+ is a great service, but these games aren't free. It's a rental service like Netflix, and, like Netflix, it's great. However if you value owning games and have specific tastes, then Plus might not be right for you.

Also, I think people have every right to complain about paying for online multiplayer.

I don't think rental is a good analogy, since you have to give a rental back. Netflix and PSN+ you can just keep extending the subscription.

Got both for free from plus in US. Not just Ico

Yes. US had to pay two months for Ico and Shadow, while Europe got it all in one month.

See.  Somebody knows what I'm talking about.  Or it could be that I complain about it all the time.

US got both by having to pay two months of PS+. Europe got both in one month ;)

Unless you play a ton of games, it's not worth it. And even if you play a lot of games, it's still not worth it if you want as much as possible at launch because games come to PS+ only later. Not only that, you don't even own any of the "free" games you get on PS+: You lose access to them as soon as your subcription ends.

Just for online multiplayer, PS+ isn't worth it in general. Essentially online multiplayer is a feature that's not 'extra' for Plus subscribers, it's a basic feature locked behind a paywall.

you still have to pay to play online now. if ps+ is so awesome that everyone wants it there is no reason to ask to pay to play online if online gaming should be free (something i heard often enough last gen). the only reason why sony does it now is because only a tiny fraction of ps3 users paid for ps+ since not so many people seemed to care as much about ps+ as people in forums want to believe.

if almost every gamer who plays online on playstation would pay for ps+ on ps3, online gaming on ps4 would be still free. but that's not the case and sony tries to force you to pay for ps+ if you want to play online. if you get "free" games or not.

there are millions of people who simply don't care about all these games and who would never in their whole life pay for ps+. all they want is their cod, madden and fifa online matches and not demon's souls or contrast but now they have to pay. and for them, the "nobody should have to pay to play online" rule is exactly the same on a playstation and not only on an xbox.

not to forget all the people who buy all the games they really want at release or the weeks after. not sure how someone who already owns all the games he likes before they are on ps+ has something from ps+.

50 bucks a year for online gaming and over a hundred games is definitely worth it
