Forums - Gaming Discussion - Playstation Plus is worth every penny, here is valid proof why.

Why does nobody complain about Playstation Plus?    Because of ALL the free games you get.    I have literally filled up a 1TB Hard Drive on Playstation Plus games alone.    There's a bunch of free games.   I've been a Plus member since it's inception and my Subscription is fully paid up until August 2015, all on extensions and $30 Black Friday Subscriptions

To name a few:  Demon's Souls, Battlefield 3, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Pac Man Championship Edition DX, Galaga Championship Edition DX, Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, Kingdoms of Amalur, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Hitman Absolution, Deus Ex:  Human Revolution, XCOM:  Enemy Unknown, Knytt Underground, Zombie Tycoon II, The Cave, Uncharted 3, Spec Ops The Line, Borderlands, Dungeon Defenders, Vanquish, Hamster Ball, All 5 Back to the Future Episodes, Might and Magic Clash of Heroes, Killzone 3 Multiplayer, Saints Row 2, Starhawk Single Player, Ratchet and Clank All For One, Sly Cooper, Super Stardust HD, LittlebigPlanet, Dead Nation, Two Worlds II GOTY, Retro City Rampage, LittleBigPlanet 2, inFAMOUS 2, Magic the Gathering Duels of the Plainswalkers, The Walking Dead a Telltale Games Series, BattleFantasia, Bloodrayne:  Betrayal, Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine, Stacking, Bomberman ULTRA, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, Altered Beast, Streets of Rage 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, The Simpsons Arcade Game, Fatal Inertia EX, Zombie Apocalypse Never Die Alone, Hard Corps:  Uprising, Just Cause 2, Tomb Raider Underworld, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Sideway, Plants vs Zombies, NFL Blitz, Shank 2, Shift 2 Unleashed, The King of Fighters XIII, Rock of Ages, Trine 2, Far Cry 2, Outland, Payday:   The Heist, Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, Bioshock 2, Rochard, Motorstorm RC, Poker Night 2, Choplifter HD, Darksiders, Saints Row The Third, Closure, LittleBigPlanet Karting, GRID 2, Ratchet and Clank All for One, Scott Pilgrim vs The World,Shatter, Oddworld:  Munch's Oddysee HD, Lead and Gold Gangs of the Wild West, all of Uncharted 2's DLC

Tekken 6, SoulCalibur Broken Destiny, GTA Liberty City Stories, BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend, Zero Escape:  Virtue's Last Reward, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Disgaea 3 Absence of Detention, Hero of Sparta, Tales From Space Mutant Blobs Attack, Soul Sacrifice, Knytt Underground, Hotline Miami, Age of Zombies, Astro Tripper, Bubble Trubble, Chronovolt, Fieldrunners, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, Dynogems, Oddworld:  Stranger's Wrath, Farm Frenzy 2, Sine Mora, ibb and obb,

With all of these games, you could live off the Playstation Plus Games, get a decent catalogue, and spend $30 a year, if you are smart and buy year subscriptions on Black Friday.

Want any more reasons why people don't bitch?   Resogun, Contrast, a starter pack for Warframe.    I believe Playstation Plus paid for itself just on the PS4 alone.

Does Xbox even have 10% of the games listed as free compared to Playstation Plus?    There are probably 100 more things if I went deep into my 2505 downloads

Xbox Live was getting a little hate last gen for having to pay for it, while the PS3 was free to play online.

Many Xbox fans predicted that sony would change their tune after seeing how successful Microsoft was with the paid subscriptions.

PSN is no longer free.

Is PSN worth the price or was Playstation fans just upset that people were paying for live and not for PSN.

You could have just replied to the thread ;)

PS+ is a great service, but these games aren't free. It's a rental service like Netflix, and, like Netflix, it's great. However if you value owning games and have specific tastes, then Plus might not be right for you.

Also, I think people have every right to complain about paying for online multiplayer.

No, not anymore, previously yes, but the fact that you HAVE to have it in order to play PS4 online is just bullshit and devalues the service in general in my opinion.

Completely agree.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

If you enjoy the games/services they offer, the value is real and is there. If you don't, it's not. No different than XBL.

If it is worth it, than why is sony putting key feature behind the pay wall? Its kind of funny that it iss ony fans argueing about how paying to play online is justified now. Personally, it never bothered me, i pay for both.

For the Free to Play games, Online is still free.

To the person that said you are renting said games, yes you are correct, but at the same time, there are plenty of titles that are worth the $30 a year you pay for it.

Yes, it doesn't affect me because I've maintained a Playstation Plus subscription from the beginning, and I could see where it would turn people away because you're already shelling out $40-60 for most games.   However, the amount of value you get for having that service, greatly offsets the cost of buying these games separately.

I am a fan of physical content, because if someone wants to borrow a game, they have that option, and on the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita, you would save a LOT on storage space, which can add up real fast going all digital.   On the Playstation 3, this was only allowed if your second activated PS3 was on their system.   On the Playstation Vita, this was only possible if two people were sharing the same account, but don't expect to play with that person, ever.   On the Playstation 4, the only benefit of physical copies is trading said games to other people, by installing the games onto the hard drive, it might turn people away from buying that physical copy to save space, especially if they have no friends.   You can of course, change the primary console I believe once every 24 hours.

People have been paying for Xbox Live for years, and getting far less, although I've heard that platform has dedicated servers.

PS+ is awesome, the only crappy thing about it is how the US gets screwed with their game selection in comparison to Europe's.

And why would one not enjoy the services and games they offer?
