Forums - Gaming - Playstation Plus is worth every penny, here is valid proof why.

And that's just the NA PS+.
Talking about EU PS+ wouldn't be fair lol

Value is relative. It might be worthwhile to one person but less so to another. Also, I don't really see the need to keep bringing Xbox Live into the discussion about PS+ being worth the cost or not.

Now, that being said, PS+ has been absolutely fantastic for me, especially since I also own a Vita. It's been far and away worth the $3.33 I pay a month on average (which will soon drop down to $2 a month).

Which reminds me, I need to setup my download for Grid 2.

... and done. Thank you, web store.

If you enjoy the games/services they offer, the value is real and is there. If you don't, it's not. No different than XBL.

And why would one not enjoy the services and games they offer?

Not everyone cares about online, and/or some people don't care about the limited amount of games they offer?

If you don't care about online, then you're not paying. And how could one not be interested in the games they offer if they have the console? You make it sound like it's Games with Gold or something.

PSPlus has free games almost every week, multiple one might i add. And those game are not old or bad games (not my opinion, it's the criteria Sony has for it)

the enormous high quality of the games will decrease on the ps4. with one more system to support, and the fact that you need ps+ for online multiplayer will lead to this.
i say, seperate the online multiplayer from ps+.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

No, not anymore, previously yes, but the fact that you HAVE to have it in order to play PS4 online is just bullshit and devalues the service in general in my opinion.

For the Free to Play games, Online is still free.

What if I tell you that I don't care about most of these games? I already have PS+ for quite some time now and I basically like the service itself - BUT - it still feels like it lost of its value by the simple fact that it isn't just elitistic stuff but actually a requirement to be able to enjoy something that is considered a standard function for a console by me. Previously, it was a choice to go for PS+, now I feel forced to do so.

No. Getting free games doesn't change the fact you have to pay to play online(Xbox Live is even better in that regard since the free game you get stays with you even after you cancel your subscription). Vita's situation is different, though, because with PS+ you get all the best games of the system. Not really with PS3 and PS4.

I am not sure why you're asking questions with such obvious answers but uh.. different strokes for different folks? People like different games. Not everyone likes the games PS+ offers, and not everyone likes the idea that once you stop subscribing, your games are gone.

But like I said, if you enjoy the services or the games, then the value is there.

I really like the discounts and sales, having ~5 euro discounts on new PSN games really makes buying them at launch atractive.

The games aren't free, they're rented. Even if it is a good deal, you shouldn't be forced to pay for it just to play the online portion of your games.
