Forums - Nintendo - My Wii U died! UPDATED!!! Nintendo consoles DON'T die!

It happened right in the middle of me playing Super Mario 3d World.  The guy I spoke to at tech support was about the dumbest person alive, and to add insult to injury they are trying to charge me almost $200 to send it in for repair because the warranty ended 2 weeks ago.  I told him for that much I could almost buy a new one.  His words exactly were: "I don't recommend buying a new one because if that one breaks then you'll have two broken Wii U's.".....,FUCKING IDIOT!  Sorry for the rant. Just needed to get this off my chest.

Try calling a second one. Nintendo´s customer support is usually one of the best, you (sometimes) just have to a bit persistent.

no offense but the bolded made me lmao

If you registered your Wii U online than you should still be covered under the warranty. You should probably just call again, and if the person isn't being helpful, ask to speak to the manager.

Add me! :)

No, it did not break. Nintendo consoles last forever. It's just playing possum.

What is exactly broken? $200 is ridiculous to pay for repair, so maybe you should ask to speak to a supervisor.

Power issues. The console does nothing when plugged in. I'm calling back tomorrow.

Can you try a different power cord? That happened to my old PS2, it turned out just to be a power cord issue.

Lol, people these days ...

So just yesterday we heard the notion that Nintendo are never prone to faulty hardware...

And this happens?

Just.. wow... lol

That doesn't make sense. If you registered your Wii-U on Nintendos website your warranty should still be there. Even if you got a launch Wii-U

I told the supervisor I thought I got an extra 90 days by registering it, and he said he wasn't aware that they were doing the extended warranties on the Wii U.  Something ain't stirring the kool aid.....

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."
