Forums - Sony Discussion - PS Vita, Do you have one? How do you like it?

Unfortunately yes, its been collecting dust but I intend to pick up some extra games with the likes of Uncharted and KZ eventually. I dont particularly like the battery life on it and the games that I do have are pretty boring for extended period of time- LBP and wipeout

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Around the Network

I have one that I basically use for Netflix and the movies/shows that are in HD look stunning on it. I really like the UI and my only gripe with the system is that it almost seems like it's an afterthought to Sony and app developers.

For example Netflix still hasn't updated their Vita app so that you can select which profile you want to use. Also when I'm using the web browser it'll sometimes stop working like it's lost connection to the router even though Netflix never has that issue.

Overall it's amazing hardware with the software support holding it back.

Have it but its collecting dust. Not enough good games out (for the moment)

The analog sticks are the worst EVER they are way to sensitive "loose"(as in no resistance when you try to move them) so when you want to turn just a bit you almost do a 360). Not good at all when for hectical gameplay situations.

The Dpad (actually buttons not pad) is/are great tbh one of the best I have EVER seen (why they fucked up the analogs tho is beyond me) Everytime i play PS3 now I wish it had the Vita dpad (makes me sad...T.T)

The screen (oled version) is great when it comes to most bright colors BUT when displaying darker colors you can see how they used super cheap oled tech. And grey/brown/and black as well as dark blue/purple (all darker colors) are fucked up. (google vita oled spots etc) Playing dark games like GravityRush is no fun that way.

The graphics are great and super crisp as long as the games run in native resolution. Some first party games dont (Gravity Rush etc.)

Using it as a controller for PS3 (maybe PS4) requires you to buy a PSVita "app" for that specific game each time. So its not really cheap.

And as far as I know using it as a WiiU Gamepad type controller requires the game to have that specific option. So you cant just go and play every game on the Vita.

CrossBuy is really awesome. Best thing Sony has come up with in decades.

Everything I said applies to the Oled Vita. I have no idea about the LCD vita.

I think the analogue sticks are the best you can expect from a portable games console.

I don't understand what you mean about controlling the PS3? You can't use it as a controller, but you can remote play every PS4 game, but some developers haven't bothered to impliment the controls properly

IF that is the best we can expect then  OH LORD.....    no seriously  the 3ds slide pad is better  its no stick tho.   You can play PS3 games like Little Big Planet on PSvita  and use it as a controller etc  but you have to pay money to do so which is just dumb.

It's not a supported feature by Sony, it is about 1 maybe 2 games. LBP Vita is a seperate game

Best console i ever had,and i owned almost all since ps1.

The first console that hasn't dissapointed me in terms of graphics(still waiting for a wii u game that looks better than wipeout 2048)
Great Screen,Great product quality(except triggers, but they are almost indestructable, dozens of good games)
sadly due to ignorance and peoples stupid logic(buying high price smartphones with rip off subscirition every year and pretending to love playing games on them though they play like shit due to lack of physicall controls but 180 bucks for vita is too expensive) it turned into a niche outsider.
