Did that really impact gaming in 7th gen? Although, it is widely known that 360 versions looked and performed better most of the time?

You don't have a laptop with camera but most likely you have a smartphone or internet connection at home.

Yes it did, and no it's widely regarded that PS3 games looked and performed much better then 360 games. To say otherwise is just biased and wrong.

Does my smartphone or internet watch me sleep? (I sleep on my couch sometimes)

----

Anyway, this is just biased propaganda now. The way it is, there is a good base of people who want an XBO without a Kinect at a cheaper price. You already agreed, at a cheaper price XBO would have sold better then PS4, so why not give it to us? Microsoft is after all making gaming machines for us, right?

I doubt it. That's mainly forum talks.

People that won't buy Xbox product anyway, shape or form say that. My friends that only game on PS platforms say the same thing but they're just talking out of their neck.

X1 with Kinect is the right direction to go in my opinion.

MS won't be caught off-guard with future console developments.

If X1 was Kinectless and didn't englobe much of other media entertainment potential, I would've stuck with 360.

You said it yourself, the XBO would likely have sold better if it were cheaper. At $400, without Kinect, I think a lot of PS4 buyers would have gone XBO.

I also disagree entirely with a Kinect free X-Box being "forum talk." It was a peripheral which only sold to 1 in 4 X-Box 360 console buyers, it was heaviliy mocked by the media post E3 (along with DRM), and from the people who I know who work in retailers, the feedback I hear is that Kinect is an unwanted peripheral.

Honestly, the system can be played without it, not everyone wants to talk to their TV. Microsoft is tacking on a an extra device in order to make a larger profit, that's all.

Until there is a Kinect free model, I know I'm not getting it, and I think outside of forums, most people think the same.

If XBO was Kinectless you wouldn't get one? Well that's you, I'm the exact opposite. The XBO is primarily a video game console, if you want the premium options with Kinect, be my guest, but I'm pretty sure most people would rather save $100-$150 and just get a video game console with Netflicks.

How do you explain multiplats on Xbox 360 and PS3 similar on every aspect?

PS3 - 720p native resolution
360 - Sub 720p resolution, which was then upscaled

Final Fantasy, plus other games had major cuts. FFXIII was a 3 disk 360 game, FFXIII-2 was developed to fit on 1 360 disk. Imagine what we lost because of that.

Plus there is no downfall to BR, except price. However Kinect........I still don't feel comfortable with a camera always watching me, and a voice always listening (my laptop down't have a camera).

For the record, there are games that were sub 720p on PS3 and 720p on the 360. GTAIV and Red Dead are few noteworthy titles. Obviously that has to do with development, not storage.

Imagine what we lost in Final Fantasy? You can't prove anything was lost. Its not like PS3 exclusives are known for having significantly more content than 360 games. Using multiple discs is always an and developers take advantage of it when they need to.

If you don't feel comfortable with Kinect... don't use it, or don't always have it connected, or sell it to someone that needs a replacment. I didn't really want the Kinect, but it wasn't a deal breaker especially since it doesn't have to be connected.

GTA IV on 360 runs at 640p natively.

Red Dead Redemption was known to drop FPS to <24 FPS, so while being one of the very few native 720p games, it was still bad on both consoles.

As for Final Fantasy, I think you should refer to the Digital Foundry review, there is a huge difference from PS3 - 360.

As for Kinect, why buy a peripheral I'm going to leave in a box and never plug it? I'll wait for the rumored Kinect free model. Until then I'm going to play Titanfall on my PC, and later buy a WiiU and a PS4 (WiiU first because it actually has some games I'm interested in in development).

The reason GT has more content is because they're recycling a lot of content and they have more time to work on their games.

Forza 5 was rushed and using less recycled content. If Forza 5 just used more recycled content there would be less complaining.

Even on new content and/or premium content GT6 have more than FM5... not to forget Turn 10 have 5x the number of employee than PD as last I heard (500 against 100)

7th gen premium vs 8th gen premium!

It takes double the man power to make those superior graphics.

The textures in FM5 are flat. The cars look too glossy and plasticy. There are no day/night cycles, dynamic environments, and weather.

Nope blu ray is needed.kiniect is not needed

Okay... 400 premium cars on GT6 (is more as far as I remember)... so FM5 should have 200 vehicles (for the same size of studio)... Tracks 40 so they should have 20... no content don't compare, stop being sore loser.

Once again, less time went into development!

Look, I'm obvoiusly I'm just having fun with you. I don't really care about this topic.

Blu-ray made the PS3 far superior IMO. A lot of games utilized the space very well. First party games looked hands down better than any first party Xbox games as well. Couple that with the PS3 being a relatively inexpensive High End Blu-ray player when it launched and I think it was good for them to include. Obviously the space is needed, especially this gen as both are using BD drives. Kinect however is an add on only used for the Xbox. It has no other functionality aside from playing games and watching you watch porn.

I just Googled the native resolution of GTAIV, everything I'm seeing says the 360 version is 720p. Maybe you have a more reliable source?

With your logic, I can point to a game that looks better on 360 and come to conclusion DVD makes better graphics. Just move on, you're a smart guy giving me a dumb argument.

Maybe a year from now you'll be able to get a X1 with Kinect for $399! I'm sure that would be even more to your liking. If you have no interest in X1 period, I don't know why you're even babbling about it.

LOL  Are you seriously bragging about the X1's Blu-ray playback?  Neither PS4 or X1 have a better playback/feature set then a dedicated player so I don't know what you have to brag about on that one. You have expensive and refined taste? Is that why you pay 100$ extra for a weaker game system with better Blu-ray playback? Your gloating over tech from 2006 or maybe you just got confused and were looking for an HD DVD/Blu-ray thread on amazon.com instead.

Awe well, carry on with your "refined taste"

I guess typing on a 1970's tech doesn't bother you as much as "the old tech from 2006".

First of all, you weren't in the conversation and all of a sudden you just jump in and "shoot" in all directions.

Second, I don't buy movies in Blu-Ray format anymore (since 2009-10).

Third, I'd take a flexible weaker gaming system anyday over a rigid graphic card update.

And then get yourself informed with this:

Xbox One will most likely get VLC for video streaming (quality).

I'm not saying PS3 games all look better because they are on BR disks, I'm saying they look better. PS3 is a more powerful system, and putting the games on BR disks allowed many games to take advantage of PS3's power.

If you're going to argue that BR is useless then why is XBO using the medium? WiiU is also using some weirld BR like proprietary disk type which is 22.5 GB (I recall them having issues, because it is BR, just not the same disk type as Sony patents)

As for XBO, I'll get it one day because I'm a gamer. All 3 consoles will have exclusives I want to play. XBO doesn't turn me down so much, as Microsoft has, they treated me like crap with the 360. This is why XBO is at the bottom of my list. On the merits of a Kinect free XBO, i see it as a similar quality system as a PS4, but I'm going to take the reliability with a grain of salt, 360 was pretty bad, and I'm not confident that MS fixed the reliability issue on XBO, especially when they had an issue with processor yield during development, and especially because the manufactering process was rushed.
