Forums - Nintendo - A biased review: Super Mario 3D World

I am personally a 2d guy but 3d world has me changing my opinion. I have just finished world 5 ( getting the 3 stars, stamp and gold flag as i go) and i have to say its an amazing game. Its literally like every level is a new game, bringing a new way of playing to the table. Going to be playing this one for a long time, especially as each of the characters has their own unique attributes.

Got it today. This is a really amazing game Oo

I hyped this game up quite a bit because....it's fucking fantastic! I'm glad to see that virtually everyone that plays it agrees. I was worried we were overhyping it since that's easy to do when we're excited about something. Looks like 3D World is delivering the goods.

I absolutely love the comparison table!!

BOPAN?

BOPAN?

Yeah, i'm off on that one too.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Since movement is restricted to eight directions, is it possible to use the d-pad for it? Does Mario grab on ledges like in other 3D Mario games?

The first true Must Have Game on Wii U. Will play it some day.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Conspiracy theory: Nintendo deliberately deprives 2D Mario games of new ideas/requested features in order to make 3D Mario the better selling series and ultimately make 3D Mario replace 2D Mario altogether. While the thought of such self-sabotage seems ridiculous (after all, why not just have two high-selling series and make the best out of both of them), there comes a point when things move definitely beyond the status of mere coincidences.

But what is their motive?

Why do they want to replace one with the other when they could have both?

Guys.. you really need to try this game on multiplayer any day.

At home, I´ve been playing a lot with my niece and sister. We´re trying to complete the game together. It´s a lot better and less chaotic than NSMBU, because there´s room for everyone, you can pace your progress better.

Still, some later levels are really difficult to finish on multiplayer and can be done better with single player
