Forums - Sony - PS4 has voice commands built in???

I don't understand how I overlooked this feature. I knew it had voice commands, but I thought you needed the camera to use them.

The PS4 supports several voice commands through the PlayStation 4 camera and headset. Commands are input from the Dynamic Menu.

Note that the headset included with the PS4 can be used to issue voice commands. Also, ensure Operate PS4 with Voice is enable in Settings under System.

It's probably shit if they don't charge 100$ extra for it

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I didn't know, I'll try when I'm alone in my house so nobody thinks I'm crazy

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Well, I thought that was old news. Would be fun to hear what you think of it :).

That's the thing with voice commands, isn't it?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

It's very hit and miss with the camera. The only command that I actually think could be useful would be to launch your digital games

It has facial recognition too for logging in. It scanned me in from all angles then I thought what is the point of this. You turn on a controller and a simple menu pops up: who's using this controller. No time at all is gained by holding still and facing the camera to log in. Same with voice commands, playstation take screenshot, yeah of that which happened 3 seconds ago. The UI is fast and easy to navigate with a controller, no need for voice commands.

It's probably shit if it doesnt take away 10% of the GPU's power.

It also recognizes your games. Just saying since they are of course not listed there.

So you can say "Playstation, Killzone", "Playstation, Assassin's Creed", "Playstation, Resogun", etc...

Although once you say "Playstation" the first time you can quickly swap between all your games and apps by only saying the app name, no more need for saying "Playstation" once it begins listening.

The big difference I see from Kinect (Or XBone OS to be specific) is voice commands to change games and such during gameplay.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

edit: nvm.  Somehow read the thread as PSV.

This is actually pretty old news by the way.  Does anybody have any information on how accurate it is though?
