Forums - Sony - PS4 has voice commands built in???

It's pretty accurate and fast from what I've seen. Although it's rather limited in commands, for example I think you can't use voice commands on the xmb? or the menu other than the dynamic menu. There are a lot of youtube videos of people using voice commands on their ps4. A simple search on youtube would show you enough.

No need to buy the camera now. It's nice to see them using their heads and doing the right stuff.

Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.

Pointless as crap though little bit of features wouldn't hurt as long as they don't sacrifice anything that the hardware has

edit: nvm.  Somehow read the thread as PSV.

This is actually pretty old news by the way.  Does anybody have any information on how accurate it is though?

It's really good. The majority of the time it does something and most of the time it does the correct something.

However I do recommend people who use voice commands don't buy Flower. It tends to get that confused a lot with Power.

Best thing though is you don't have to say full game names. It's just Killzone, not Killzone Shadow Fall.

That was one thing poeple were complaining about with the One's voice command, you have to say the whole title for it to recognize what you are asking for.  I also don't think you can do it with just a mic.

Yes MS would like people believe you need kinect for voice..you don't. Sony will add more in time but focused on the most important thing first, game features.

Doesn't this require having the mic plugged into the controller with the controller turned on, however. Thereby making it not as useful as you're most likely holding the controller already?

This voice and camera commands are nothing but gimmicks, this is one of the things Microsoft are using in there UK commercials to help sell the console, it's cringeworthy.

Rumors suggest that Sony was initially going to include the Camera with all PS4's for a higher price, but after Microsoft announced $500 at E3, Sony quickly decided to unbundle the camera so that they could beat Microsoft's price by a considerable margin. I'm sure that's why the voice commands are still programmed in. Interesting that you can use them with a headset, but that's not quite as practical as the Kinect's voice commands since, for instance, you can use the Kinect to turn on the system while you're walking towards the couch, whereas you'd have to pick up your headset on the PS4.

No you don't.............

It works well and I'm sure some people will get a use out of it but I still prefer buttons.

I'll probably never use it.
