Well, the Wii U will most likely do better in 2014, with all the great games coming out for it :D

That's what everyone said about 2013.

Wii U actually had a decent 2012 launch and holiday sales. If they said that, they simply guessed wrong about the momentum it would have over 2013.

Also Rayman, W101, and Pikmin 3 getting delayed didn't help their guess.

People are putting too much faith in Wii U's upcoming games. People are in for a disappointment.

I highly doubt It. All the upcoming games next year are going to be amazing!! Just like the current ones :P

Not that they won't be good games, but that they won't "save" the Wii U.

What does the Wii U need to be saved from? (I know you said "save" but still)  It is selling and it will make profit. If the WiiU will just make $1 profit in its lifetime then its still profit.

People should stop expecting things and especially stop comparing things.  Whats the point of that? X is not Y so no matter how much you compare X to Y  neither X will become Y nor will Y become X.  Its just a waste of time.

Wii U is not a Wii and its not a PS4 so can we please all get over that and move on with our lives? Especially the "doom people" the only thing doomed might be them and the internet itself because bothseem to be stuck on a mysterious DOOM spiral and most likely wont get out without help.

That $1 profit can put it in a better position that most.

Doesn't help that the 3DS is probably canabalising some of the sales of the console, either.

I know that's the case with me. I've owned every Nintendo console since the first, but this is the first time I am passing. The 3DS is going to be my Nintendo fix this generation.

as some have already said, there is too much faith in games. Simply put, the system itself is something that just isnt hitting with the people. First it was supposed to be Pikmin, then Rayman, then W101, then Sonic, then Zelda then Mario...next is DKC, then Kart, then Smash. I think Kart will do something, Smash's sales will be eaten by the 3ds version

I wouldn't be so sure about Smash Bros. They've mentioned that the 3DS and Wii U versions will be different enough to provide unique experiences and compliment each other. What this actually means remains to be seen, but if they pull it off right, the Wii U version will definitely be the definitive version and could draw on the 3DS userbase to getting a Wii U.

The wii is going to be ok on the long term. Keeping in mind that Nintendo release their consoles every 5 years, the wiiU is probably going to have 2 1/2 years of great support from here on.

thats not what ive read. Supposedly they wanted parity between the two, so they are going to be closer than initially thought. For WIi U owners and Nintys own sake I hope it isnt true, but i wouldnt pass them. Even if thats nto the case, the general masses arent going to notice or care to much about a difference

Yeah, I suspect thats the case for many people interested in Nintendo games. The 3DS has a much stronger, diverse library of games at the moment. And you probably won't miss out on much if you choose to skip the Wii U (for now anyway).

X and Zelda are going to perhaps be the two greatest games Nintendo has ever released.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

You should be sad. Only having 2 100k+ weeks this year is kinda dismal... I can't even think of anything they could do to alleviate the situation at this stage...the Wii U is doomed

Yes, doomed. Your mask says it all.

so just a year ago when it looked like Wii U was going to be ok, it was fine to compare them to other consoles, but now the reality of the situation sinks in all of a sudden we cant compare? sounds legit.

Dont act tough lol.
Just because you do something like that  dont act as if I do.    I mean what was the point in comparing the WiiU to other consoles a year ago? I cant see it.  Was as dumb as it is today.

If anything the general consensus of educated people was "ok seems a bit more powerful than  PS360 in terms of gpu and has 2gigs of ram but was not able to show it" end of comparison.
Everything else would be stupid and "glassballing".

If I ever compared the WiiU to another console then it was for counter arguing stupid doom stuff.
Like this:
Person X: WiiU is doomed because of reason Y" Me: "Have you forgotten how the 3ds ended up? that can happen to the WiiU"  I also never acted like this was set in stone its a possibility nothing else.
OR
Person X: "look WiiU has shitty sales DOOM!"  Me: "remember the PS3 sales? And just look at it now. Time will tell"

And btw I am pretty SURE  non-Nintendo gamers compare Nintendo consoles to other consoles more often than Nintendo gamers do  but thats just my opinion.

So you will never see me open a thread and compare the WiiU to anything else than the WiiU or try to convince people that WiiU theories or rumors are facts because thats a waste of everyones time.
