I suppose it is sad if you think Nintendo should make hardware. As part of the Nintendo should make Software only group it makes me happy.

A lot of gamers held off on buying an Xbox 360 until they saw what Nintendo and Sony were going to offer. Then the sales for all three took off. Maybe the same goes for the PS4 and Xbox One. Now that people can make an educated decision, they can buy the system that best suits their needs.

I'm optimistic, though. I hope this console generation lasts an extremely long time. In that time, I think we'll have lots of multi-console owners and the Wii U is a better secondary console than the others. It probably won't be number one by this time next year but it will still do well.

We all know Wii U wont be winning the gen, but i still think modest sales and overall profit can be achieved. I mean it can only go upwards im sure it couldnt get any lower. I hope things work out, the Wii U is a great system and its going to have a top library of games.

Both. It's pretty bad Wii U hasn't gotten over 100k a lot this year, but the numbers are way better than they were before (20k)

I really wanted to buy one, but after my 360 and Wii had no games after a few years, I won't make the same mistake again. On the bright side, 3DS is going to have an amazing future.

The whole, it will take games to improve the wii u sales make sense, but it's obviously taking too damn long. Before, it was wait for holidays 2013(not sure how much sales will raise with just sm3dw). They should've released more games that are system sellers during this whole year instead of 2014. What happens if some games get delayed, will it be 2015 then? The wii u will have decent enough sales, but it prob won't win this gen by any stretch of the word. I'm not even sure if they did jack shit with there one year head start either.

Yep. I think some people are overestimating the overall impact its going to make - even considering the excellent games line up for next year. Their two flagship titles for the Wii U; Super Mario 3D World and Wind Waker are already out, and the system is still failing to gain traction on the home console market. While sales are going to improve, with the launch of major releases.. I doubt its going to make that much of an difference tbh.

Nintendo spent too long faffing about, that they haven't built much momentum for the Wii U. And now, with the PS4 and Xbox One out its going to have even more competition to deal with. Doesn't help that the 3DS is probably canabalising some of the sales of the console, either.

It's like they didnt want to get involved in the Next gen battle, but this meant that any games conference they were basically absent, just fell off a cliff, and though I can see why they didnt want to go head to head... just doing nothing was a total mistake and not the right call.

They are appearing on Spike on Saturday, lets hope its not a "New character in wii-u fit" type situation, or a "heres a fireworks display surprise". It will not surprise me if they do a presentation again at E3, which will kind of prove they were wrong to miss out on it. They need to bring games, and I mean lots of games if they want any hope of making the wii-u relevant. I still know people who will buy one once a certain game comes out, but from the sounds of them, they are 1/2 games only buyers, and even though it helps bump up the console sales, it wont help the software sales in the long run.
