Why would they discontinue it when they just started to advertise it???
I've seen more commercials for the Wii U than I've seen for PS4 since the PS4 actually launched...
I haven't seen any Spanish language ads though (I live in New York)...
They might want to consider making some...

Is Spanish such a big deal in USA?

To me the console is just way too expensive. I want it, but I'm not gonna buy it for this price. Nintendo has to do what Sony did with Vita so far and just play the waiting game, wait till the costs of manufacturing it are lower, then cut the price and unlike Sony - keep on pumping AAA games or getting 3rd party exclusives. And not just family friendly stuff, they need more games like X, Bayo 2, Metroid, dark 3D Zelda, etc. so that the core gamers pick Wii U up as a valid second console with must-have core games. But most importantly, they need to reach the $199 sweetspot ASAP, even if it means to take a hit on every console. $249 would be good as well, but this console really is too last gen (inferior to PS360 in many important aspects) to validate a next gen price.

And they also have to expand to other European countries. It is ridiculous that in Poland, in which Sony will easily sell over a million PS4s, there is no Nintendo of Poland and you can't find a Wii U anywhere. Hell, I live in a 1.3 mil aglomeration and there isn't a single store that has a Wii U and only 3 stores sell 3DS! Sony and MS are making money and Nintendo doesn't care at all. Crazy.

bolded: sony didn't do that to Vita.

if you think wii u is expensive, you must think ps4 and xone are outrageously expensive.

Oh God! Why do people hate Nintendo so much? What has Nintendo done to all those people? If you don't like it, don't buy it, but why the trashing?

I know people that hate the Wii like a disease and always say that Nintendo games are for children. I don't even take part in those discussions anymore. Nintendo has made very good games throughtout the years and will continue to deliver excellent games.

I don't know many people age but I have very good memories playing Nintendo games on the NES and having the time of my life. I am currently playing Super Mario 3D world and I am enjoying it a lot. I can't wait for the next Mario Kart and Zelda.

To finish, Nintendo is essential to the industry. I can't imagine a generation of consoles without them, it wouldn't be the same. Nintendo for sure will be the last this generation but hey, every generation has a winner and a loser, to say it that way. Last gen, Xbox was the "loser" and anyway many enjoyed it a lot too.

If we had likes, this post would get one from me. Very well put.

Sony and Micrososft are diverse companies with huge distribution channels into retails through other products. This makesit easy for them to get their other products on shelves.

Nintendo only sells video game systems, it is much harder to establish chains in other countires that they don't havea foot in. They wouldn't even have the resources to do it. Then they would also need to localise games and that takes man power.

This doesn't mean I will give them a free pass, it just means this is their weakness which somehow they need to develop a strategy for i.e perhaps partner with say a samsung to use their channels to get the systems into stores as part of package deals. Who knows what the answer is only they can open up negotiations with other companies.

No. but i see Nintendo making a successor as early as 2016 (2017 at the latest). then discontinuing it in 2018.
it will go on to sell less than the Gamecube, and not be nearly as profitable.

it will be the least successful console (home or portable) since Dreamcast. it will have little to no 3rd party support, dated graphics, archaic online system.
the the WiiU replacement will launch in either 2016 or 2017, likely being on par or a bit lower with xbox one graphically.

Why should they kill the Wii U to make it's successor have the exact same problems? They're better off trying to focus on making as much profit as possible with 3DS and Wii U and release a console in 2017 that the mass market is interested in.

Besides all this Wii U doom and gloom is kind of old, it's not some dystopian console with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, I've met plently of people who are happy with their Wii U and it will keep fans happy for the rest of the gen, if Nintendo fans can survive the N64 and Gamecube they can survive the Wii U.

NO, and please stop with this childish thing.

Absolute truth?

you mean something liike this?

http://hdwarriors.com/forums/topic/wii-u-power-consumption-confirmed-by-eua-deparment-of-energydoe/

"  Wii U power consumption ≥63 watts confirmed by EUA DEPARMENT OF ENERGY(DOE)"

thats more absolute truth than the 33 watts specs, specially when the measurements were donr with lazy quick ports
