I like the idea of a Pegasus Epona. It could get hurt at the beggining of the game and not being able to fly until the later part of it granting you access to the villain's hide out.

As for the sea, why not having an underwater city like Atlantis (or like the castle in Wind Waker) where we'll need a seahorse or a turtle to have access there?

It could also be handled through levelling up of some kind. Regular horse first, which learns how to fly, and then swim through gaining some kind of experience points.

True, and I'm not against it. But I'd prefer to have different animals with different atributes instead of 1 magical animal that can do everything.

It would also add variety.

So, no original ideas whatsoever? Okay.
That is why Nintendo remake its games so often and make dozens of versions from each game: that is what the Nintendo fans want.

It is ironic, however, when we think about it what made Nintendo the gaming giant it is today: inovation and fresh new ideas

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I don't think people are asking for things which have no innovation. More, why create new methods of transport when theres nothing wrong with these suggestions?

Zelda games of the move things forward, looking at Skyward Sword is a good example of this. I don't see why you're complaining about people making a suggestion about something that actually sounds pretty exciting if it's done right...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

How bout no. No gimmicks. Return to the gameplay that made Legend of Zelda mythos great and not what modern Zelda fans believe it to be. No puzzles. No whimsical characters. No fairy. No chores. You alone, with a vast land to explore. No more easy dungeons or enemies. Bring back maze and twitch gameplay. No more fruitiness. Kill Tingle with fire and put him in front of Hyrule square in full display for all to see. Rated M for fucking everybody, Huuuurah!!!

edit: That's not original either, it's just different from what other people have suggested thus far in the thread.

Yes, I understand what you guys are saying, it is because of love and nothing else, which is comendable. However, when I think Nintendo, I think "Surprise me, get me off guard", which they really are good in doing.

But, in other hand, these days of yearlly FPSs, I guess you guys are being more realistic than me.

Puzzles were in Zelda 1......if you want an Edler Scrolls 2.0 just buy Skyrim...

Just not true, at least not for me.  You called people on lack of originality but then proceeded to say the series should go back to its roots, that's a contradiction.

Zelda has been around for nearly thirty years so no matter what direction the next game takes some elements are going to be 'unoriginal', if it were wholly original then it wouldn't be Zelda.  I hope to see a surprising new entry to the series that often catches me off guard (Skyward Sword was too linear and predictable for my liking) but I still expect the genre to be essentially the same and the main protagonist to wear a green tunic and use means besides his own feet to traverse a large overworld.

Bird and horse in one game would be good but I hope I never see another boat in a zelda game again.

Yes, that makes sense I guess, I really not sure what to expect, but I know what I do not want: top down Zelda or Skyward sequel. And you are right, it is a contradiction in a way, but I wish the game could be more simple like the original (not top down, but a simple, hero journey story).

But when I think about it, I really think that they should do unnexpected things, not what we THINK we want. I know it sounds weird, but, well.

Let us think about Super Mario 3d world, an huge sucess, critical acclaim from everybody, but, in a way, it is a simple formula: 3d gameplay not too fancy and gorgeous graphics, maybe the new Zelda should do the same.

I know I sound contradictory, but that is because I am not that sure about things as you guys are, I always see things in a fragmented way.
