See most people here have no idea what they missed: four swords required so much hardware that few people ever played it the way it was meant to be played, and even then the graphics were lousy due to needing to run on gameboy hardware. But with the wii u having the screen in the controller that's all a thing of the past. I wouldn't be surprised if wii u four swords was one of the driving reasons behind having a tablet controller in the first place. |
how the hell will that work if the WIi U could only support one tablet?
The internet would explode into a sea of rage if that happened. Lots of people are expecting the game too take full advantage of the Wii U hardware.
No... Zelda U should be a sidescroller a-la Zelda II, because that's the only genre of games that sell on the system lol

all joking aside i actually wouldnt mind a follow up or even remake of Zelda 2, just dont make it too brutal. Was a good game. Not for Wii U could be 3ds OR Ninty could take advantage of the online and kind of make a mid tier like game. Have it on a console but digital. Kind of like what almost every other publisher does.

The less the Wii U has in common with Gamecube the better. Top down perspective should be for handhelds only.

i think what he is trying to say is that the 2d zeldas dont move systems like the 3d ones. the chart kind of shows that too.
Mensrea said: I've been playing ALBW a lot since yesterday. I'm floored with it. Honestly, I haven't had this much fun since Wind Waker. I feel like Zelda games lately have lost most of what made me like Zelda to begin with, but this game is knocking it out of the park. The world is super fun to explore, the game is smooth, combat is actually fun, I love it all.
That being said, I think that Zelda U should be in the same style. 3D Zelda has it's strengths, but really, I think 2D Zelda is overall better. I'm sick of wrestling with the camera, and I want to be able to move and fight as fast as a 2D game. I truly believe that 2D Zelda is the best Zelda.
Thoughts? |
I think just like both 2D and 3D Mario work well on the console, so too will a 2D Zelda game.
I personally wait for 3D Zelda entries as they tend to be the better Zelda games, but this one Zelda on 3DS which is top-down is changing many zelda convensions and being a better game for it.
I say, let them change some more Zelda convensions and do it for the 3D game on Wii U. But I would also have no objection to a 2D Zelda game made straight for Wii U where the graphics can be better... actually I expect there will be a Four Swords adventure type top-down Zelda for Wii U sooner or later.
Ocarina of Time is still my fav game of all time... so no.
2D exploration will never match 3D when done at its best.
