Forums - Gaming - the negativity towards Kinect is nothing more than paranoid, idiot logic.

A lot of people, including me, are simply not interested in talking to their consoles, and are perfectly fine with using a controller and/or keyboard. On the games side it's also been a case of over promising and under delivering, there isn't even a launch game that uses the bundled Kinect 2.
At $100 more for a less capable games machine, for which Kinect is held responsible, I can understand the negativity.

Isn´t Crimson Dragon a controller-or-kinect controlled game? I was looking forward to controlling my dragon with Kinect :).

Originally designed as a Kinect game, Crimson Dragon is now a controller-based game with a few Kinect supplements. You can use voice commands for things like navigating its menus (a much quicker alternative to the comparatively laggy controller navigation) and controlling your Wingman. I found the latter to be a bit impractical, as "advance forward" is kind of a mouthful when you're focusing on an intense fight. In terms of movement controls, you can lean to the left or right to make your dragon perform a barrel roll, but why bother when the controller offers a 100-percent accuracy rate?

That thing should be optional and not force people to use it, If you want a camera pointing at you fine then, but in the end it should be your choice, Kinect games on the 360 are flawed games don't work simple as that, so knowing this MS still went ahead and force the kinect into the xbone console but also it added 100 bucks more to it.

When the Kinect was released on the 360 everyone hate it and even now everyone hate it, but still MS give a crap about all those millions and millions of users who bought the 360 and still it went ahead and force this thing into the xbone. So consumers knowing that felt betrayed by its favorite console, so hating this thing is more than justified, but the story doesn't end there, now add all the DRM crap MS wanted to implement so is obvious what the people reaction is going to be, MS started a fire with the obligated Kinect, MS later on with the DRM thing they amplified the hatred towards that thing, even thou they do the famous "180" the damaged was done already, MS prove themselves they are bunch of liers first this E3 all their demos were running on high end PCs, Forza 5 doesn't look like the E3 demo, Ryse was downgraded lots of times, almost all of their exclusives can't do full HD, the console is less powerful and cost more thanks to guess who ? "KINECT".

So is not about only controlling your games using this thing there are lots of other factors that increase the hatred towards this thing.

Well, that sucks. I loved the controls of Child of Eden, and these games, in my opinion, are far superior with Kinect than any other control method. Oh, maybe I should play som Child of Eden right now :)...

consoles and handheld controllers have been around since the early seventies, roughly forty years now.

I want someone to explain to me why an alternative way to control your game system, an altogether different approach on how to play games in general, is a bad thing.

It isn't.  There is no way adding features are a bad thing.  Sure, not everyone is going to use everything - just like now.  But extra features, functionality and fun are always a nice thing to have.

I think the major negativity on Kinect is because some people thing it will be like gym in school and everyone will be force to exercise when they don't want too.  Plus I think many 'hard core' gamers hate moving, sports and dance and feel threatened that they might be forced off the couch.

If you like it cool, if you don’t – that’s your opinion, if you haven’t used it, well then keep an open mind – it’s not going to hurt you.

Innovation ALWAYS has a negative push – New York fought putting in the subway, and Arizona did everything it could to stop the Grand Canyon from being a National Park (they said it was to socialist and communistic.)  But I think few would argue that those aren’t good things to have today.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

That's as stupid as saying:

The positivity about kinect is paranoid.

It seems you absolutely don't know what the word paranoid means and just use it to support your point of view as you know the word paranoid is used to silence and discredit people when you run out of arguements but still pretend that you are right.
A lot of people have been callef paranoid because they were saying there is a srecret shadow world government(Bilderberger),the LIBOR is manipulated, the Dollar is a private currency, or NSA massspying.
After all these things have been proven right, are all these conspiracy theorists no longer paranoid but all the other are?No-those who were paranoid are still paranoid and those who weren't aren't.This is just a point of view.

Disliking something has nothing to do with paranoia-you simply like a thing or not and not part of a mental illness. You can be 100% paranoid and love kinect.
People disliking kinect is very simple:New things are often rejected by the "establishment"(right know many people dislike the new steambox-controller)
and Cam-games have been already rejected since eyetoy-it is not a new phenomenon.

Many people just don't like it,many others don't care but started to dislike it because hundreds of millions were thrown at kinect & its simple games while at the same the production of core exclusiv games was massivly reduced and studios closed to compensate this money waste=kinect had a massiv impact on core game supply. And some simply don't like it because kinect was(until now) completely worthless for them as it hasn't added any additional positiv value in terms of gaming. And some additional alternative controls can sometime ruin the gaming experince,eg when you play vita and are forced to use some useless gimmick touch controls,or to be forced to play azelda on 3ds with a pen/stylus.It can ruin a game ,especially a great game that was never ment to be played that alternative way(play steel
battallion on xbox with the amazing controller and play it on 360 with kinect and you will know what i mean)There is until now no kinect game that can be considered as a milestone or something that has added real improvements to a genre. It is just a bunch of Wii ports and bundles or licenses+heavy marketing that has been able to shift units.

Saying:Disliking kinect is paranoid is as wrong and stupid as saying
only MD Fanboys with stockholm Syndrom buy kinect .

I guess we are all idiots then. Because Kinect is not Worth £80 €100 $100.

PSP Lifetime more than PSV+3DS Lifetime.

Yup, us ugly people who don't like talking, don't like Kinect...

i don't think so.Kinect is not worth 100 bucks, but as long as you don't buy it you are not an idiot.

This is just the prize MS has decided to sell it.

Maybe  kinect is much more worth  in terms of the technology that is build inside but for faming is it pretty wortlhess untill know and not worth 50 dollar and MS has still to prove it with a good game that it is worth 100 dollar.

Kinect  now is like a corvette in an offroad race.It may be the most powerfull and expensive but pretty useless on 90% of the road.

Proof:The best working and usefull thing is the voice recognition. The only thing that runs pretty fluid, but voice controls is not about cams but about microphones and microphones are an old thing in console gaming and don't cost more than 10 dollar.

But Microsoft is "forcing" people to buy it wheras it was optional with 360 and PS4. And they even gimped the hardware to ensure the $500 price point. So maybe it is "worth" $100 but like the Wii-U people aren't seeing the value in it.

Edit: Yes it sold 1 million worldwide, but stock is still available, hmm i wonder why?
