I guess we are all idiots then. Because Kinect is not Worth £80 €100 $100.

i don't think so.Kinect is not worth 100 bucks, but as long as you don't buy it you are not an idiot.

This is just the prize MS has decided to sell it.

But Microsoft is "forcing" people to buy it wheras it was optional with 360 and PS4. And they even gimped the hardware to ensure the $500 price point. So maybe it is "worth" $100 but like the Wii-U people aren't seeing the value in it.

well you are right.

But you were Just talking about kinect and i thought you mean kinect 1 and not kinect 2.

I think the main problem with Kinect is not just that the xbone is expensive but that they had to design the console around it. The higher latency GDDR5 wouldn´t be as good for Kinect thats why they went for DDR3 in order to reduce latency for Kinect. But DDR3 only would have limited graphics massively this is why they also went for 32 MB Esram which in turn was only possible because they sacrificed tons and tons of transistors for that Esram. Which means less streaming cores and worse graphics. But still a huge chip which makes the box so big despite the power difference between PS4 and Xbox one the One has actually a equally large Chip or even bigger AFAIR. The one could be cheaper way cheaper without kinect and stronger kinda like the PS4. Or keep the price at 499 and we could have had a true beast.

But it was MS decision its their product they can do what they want but whining about people that critizice the Kinect because its not inline with their needs helps no one and infact its their opinion so they are allowed to be upset about it.

The simple negativity towards Kinect for most people is value. I already know 2 Xbox 1 owners that have unplugged it. It's just priced to high for what it offers to most people.

my only issue with kinect is the size and the thickness of the cable, Like really it needs to be that thick?

After 2 days with the XBOne I don't use the Kinect at all, the voice recognition barely works and speaking loudly in the house with roommates is just plain awkward. MS should have also had a Kinectless SKU for $400 because so far the Kinect doesn't seem mandatory as I have the camera facing the wall and the XBOne functions just fine.

It's good, but not really for gaming

I think most people agree that the best thing about it is the voice commands, which I see no reason why you couldn't do through a microphone (see End War). It just seems unnecessary for most things

Kinect 1 didn´t work.

It plain and simple wasn´t functioning like it was supposed to do.

100% body tracking just doesn´t work for traditional games, think about it:

how does your typical 3rd person/first person protagonist behave in your standard game ?

Jump, Swing/Shoot your weapon/Sword, Move around (!), Climb etc.

Those actions are absolutely not transfarable to a Kinect-only game, the traversal alone is almost impossible to replicate with Kinect so you end up with on-rails games like Fable:The Journey.

Kinect doesn´t work with games that demand precision and games that have you moving your character.

Heck, the Wiimote and the Playstation move are far better, Shooters play like a charm on them.

Thicker and bigger is better.... Don'tcha know?

VGChartz♥♥♥♥♥FOREVER

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

Only way I can really see Kinect being useful is working with something like Oculus Rift.
