Forums - Gaming - the negativity towards Kinect is nothing more than paranoid, idiot logic.

consoles and handheld controllers have been around since the early seventies, roughly forty years now.

I want someone to explain to me why an alternative way to control your game system, an altogether different approach on how to play games in general, is a bad thing.

The negativity towards kinect is absolutely justified since it practically adds no value to the console whatsoever to the eyes of the general audience. The software on the first kinect was uncool and microsoft will likely continue giving pathetic software for it. A different approach to game controls isn't the issue with kinect. It is the awful software that keeps it from being worthwhile to many eyes of the PS4/X1 gamers. What's more is that bundling a worthless accessory only hurts microsoft more in the long run.

I did it for the lols

Well, I use only Kinect for my Netflix since it is so much easier. Having a system where that kind of functionality is built in everywhere is a big bonus, coupled with being able to Skype in 1080p :). Ofcourse it adds alot of value for alot of people, just looks at the 20mn people who bought the first Kinect, and this time around it is improved upon lots.

I still understand people who don´t care for Kinect, but I have no respect for those that try to downplay the experience for us that DO like Kinect.

Motion gaming has been and novelty add on for those who want it, till now where its forced on you

A lot of people, including me, are simply not interested in talking to their consoles, and are perfectly fine with using a controller and/or keyboard. On the games side it's also been a case of over promising and under delivering, there isn't even a launch game that uses the bundled Kinect 2.
At $100 more for a less capable games machine, for which Kinect is held responsible, I can understand the negativity.

Lol by that logic if someone came out with something to control your console via burping it would be good in your eyes since its an alternative way to control your game system >.>

That's why I find it idiotic to call it "idiotic logic". Your last sentence is the difference between you and the OP, you being more intelligent.

Isn´t Crimson Dragon a controller-or-kinect controlled game? I was looking forward to controlling my dragon with Kinect :).
