Didn't Nintendo do quite a bit of the game funding? I'm sure they helped develop Lost Worlds.

I'm sure they did put some money into the publishing/marketing of Lost World, but i doubt they did for the Olympic game.

I dont know. I'm just utterly baffled by Sonic's poor sales. Even the ropey GCN launch title port of Sonic Adventure 2 did waaaay better.

Colours did well on Wii, Generations was pretty solid on PS3/360 and then Lost Worlds is suddenly mega bomb. Its kinda blind sided me as I thought it'd help drive Wii U sales for Xmas along with 3D World.

The problem with this holiday season is the PS4/XB1. It wil be a lot harder to move hardware with now consoles out. That and Sonic Lost World got terrible reviews. In the end, I see Sega porting it to another console.

Sonic Heroes 2.

Nah, if the rumours about Nintendo helping develop Lost Worlds are true, that game is locked down for Wii U and 3DS.

I have read that Sony actually turned Sonic down for Vita instead wanting Phantasy Star Nova and Football Manager.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Pretty sure Nintendo was not that involved with the Sonic Lost Worlds development. For starters, it would probably be a better game if Nintendo had been involved.

They're just the publisher because Sega scaled back their publishing operations in the US/Europe (ditto for Mario & Sonic).

Noes! It must be a real Mario & Sonic game!

Sonic game 1: Sonic Lost World (WiiU)
Sonic game 2: Sonic Lost World (3DS)
Sonic game 3: Soochi Olympics (WiiU)

There you have the 3 games

Psh naw, Sonic Lost World is one game, it just has two different versions.

The problem with the OP's theory, is that even if it IS Sonic Adventure 3, it wouldn't matter much. Unless people have forgotten, SA2 wasn't all that hot, and to be honest, while fun, SA1 had it's issues as well. There really never had been a GREAT 3D Sonic title, they've all had issues of some kind, and honestly I think it's a case of there are some franchises that just do not work that well in 3D. Mega Man, Contra, Castlevania (IMO), and Sonic being another one.

If it is SA3, great, hope they do a better job on it than Lost World. Problem is, Lost World initially looked really creative and cool, it LOOKED like it was going to be a really good exclusive, and even still some people apparently enjoy it. But the general consensus is it's kind of a mess. And that's because Sega just....isn't the Sega of old anymore. A lot of the talent that made their classic games great, is gone. That's why most of the 3D Sonic games, 3D Shinobi, that bullshit "Golden Axe" game they put out, etc., just aren't that good.

What would be better, in my personal opinion, would be to have Sumo Digital work on a Mario/Sonic or even Nintendo/Sega crossover game of some kind, most likely a racer akin to what they've already done. At least those Sonic racing games are fun, they play well, etc. And people would be a lot more excited, I think, for a Mario/Sonic crossover that ISN'T a shoddy Olympics game, than they would for a Sonic Adventure 3 that has a strong likelihood of not being all that great.

Me personally, at least, I'd like to see that. And I know, Mario Kart 8 is coming next year already. But fuck it. People would buy it if it was Sonic and Mario (or Sega and Nintendo) characters, and to make it different, hell, make it more like Diddy Kong Racing while they're at it. It'd be good, because Sumo Digital are good, and it'd sell like hotcakes.

A random person has appeared.

Ain't those exclusivity things a little bit tricky ? My guess is that Sega would mean " 3 games Sonic is exclusive to Nintendo " instead of " 3 Sonic games exclusive to Nintendo "

If that's the case, those 3 games would be :

Sonic Lost Worlds
Sonic & Mario at the olympic games
Sonic in Super Smash

With that said, Sega may already be making a game for X1 and PS4.

Can't really see a third Wii Sonic game being Sonic Adventure 3 myself. I suspect the new game will be a new 2D Sonic game.
