perhaps is because of one of the great things about zelda games: they are not merely cinematic experiences, so a simple trailer doesn't sell you in

Maybe its because I have no nostalgia for ALTTP but its not like Ive never played the top down Zeldas before, in fact Links Awakening is one of my faves. Maybe if I played it it would be fun and enjoyable but right now I just feel like so many games coming out or released recently have impressed me so much more =( |
Its the graphics and world. The world looks familiar so one thinks there is nothing to explore because everything has been seen 22years ago (even if thats not true because there is a ton of new stuff). And the graphics look like polished N64 graphics with new shaders. The artstyle is also suprisingly bad for a Zelda game. (character models etc)
VS
The 3DS remake of OOT for me looks way better than link between worlds
And for me the RENT ITEM instead of find item kills a part of the exploration that Zelda is known for. Zelda was fine and didnt need a fix like that SkywardSword added cinematic storytelling/drama to the game but totally removed the exploration aspect by making it "chose one of three levels" thing. A link between world fixes that but then removes another aspect of exploration.
Why not let me rent items and in addition to that KEEP them if I find them. Buying Items is just as stupid of an excuse for using rupees as that shitty red/golden Twilight Princess armor that consumed your rupees.... or that stupid "hey your shield needs to be repared" thing in Skyward Sword..

The Dungeons are new, but I know what you mean. The game apparently started as a LTTP remake, so I atleast understand why.
Swii26.... you're a fan of Star Tropics and of 3D Zeldas, but not of old school isometric view Zeldas? That's... just weird.

The pacing was absolutely perfect. The script was great. Very cute. The world was big enough, without being overwhelming. It was a perfect game. Ocarina? Doesn't even come close. Tedious, longwinded, self-referential. Ocarina is a great game, don't get me wrong, but in my opinion, if I wanted to give you a good example of what I think of lttp, it's a good 10 points over ocarina. In the realm of greatest games, it's up there with: Super mario 3, Super Metroid, and final fantasy tactics |

Because it's so simplistic at its core, you move around and press a to swing sword at enemy near you. I seriously doubt you could get excited by a Link's awakening trailer. You may feel nostalgia by hearing the music, but purely looking at what's going on on the trailer, you will ask yourself what you thought was so great about it. |
This, especially the bolded part.

Well.. you´ll have to play the game first.
Get a demo, if Nintendo releases one.
I also dont have nostalgia for a Link to the past, since I never played it fully, but I´m really excited about this game. It´s the kind of game that on paper may sound lame but when you do play it it feels a lot better.
After beating link to the past a zillion times, reading about it, seeing it and from what I've heard from podcast, I'm not sure. I was thinking of getting a 3ds again but meh, I will just wait a bit longer.

I'm looking forward too it. Already warned my kids I'll have to steal their 3DSs occasionally to play it.

top down Zelda is not that interesting |
Like Mario, 3D is far better for me.
