FES is the upgraded version of Persona 3 with an epilogue chapter.

That's pretty much exactly what I'm doing now. I can't really recommend which order you play them in. I preferred playing Persona 4 Golden first because I think it's the better game, and it was my introduction to the franchise.

You can only controll all of your party members in Persona 3 Portable, in both P3 and P3FES they are auto-controlled and you just give them basic tactics (heal, knock down, etc).

Well it's not like it could hurt. Having the series multiplatform isn't a big deal. the SMT franchise was experienced by japanese gamers on the SNES but the third game was on the PS2, and then the fourth game came out in a portable console. There is no pattern for Atlus game releases!

Yeah I have a 3DS but I was considering getting a VITA! My problem though is the ridiculous prices here in Argentina, I would love to get one, I really do! Even the 3DS is expensive, so I got it cheap from a friend xD.

I think it's not a bad idea, they would be expanding the appeal of the series to other platform holders while keeping loyal to the original fanbase. Also the VITA version would be the "definitive version" .

There's no evidence that they will either!

Atlus's Persona development team have pretty fast cycles, I doubt they would have been working on it then when both Catherine and P4G hadn't released yet.

That could apply to every 3rd party exclusive, but console's need exclusives to survive. Given the position its in, the Vita needs to hold onto every 3rd party game and franchise it can, none more than Persona. Sales have been exceptional given the genre and install base.

I've recently started playing Persona 4 for the first time, so the timing is humorous.

My thoughts about Persona 4:
1. I suck at Persona 4.
2. I hope not all dungeons are as boring as the first one.
3. I can tell that it has a good amount of replay value.

I have old FF games that I have already bought, so I may play those first if Persona 3 isn't as amazing as 4

I'd say still play Persona 3, it's a little slow for me at the moment but I know it's going to pick up soon. I may have spoke too soon when I said it wasn't as good as 4, I think my step brother actually prefers it to 4.

Well we always have the promise that Atlus is making a 3DS persona game. We will see!

They where at the earliest development part. They wen full speed ahead a year ago I think.

I think that the problem with the VITA isn't it's lack of exclusive games. Of course it's going to help the VITA, but I don't think Atlus thinks about how the VITA is doing when they decided the platform to make the game. They could have done SMT 4 a VITA exclusive too. Imagine that great sales in the VITA spilt across the VITA and the 3DS. It would surely hit 1 million. I know the VITA needs exclusive third party games but Sony could be doing a whole lot more for the system if they trie. They have a lot of first party studios.Besided I think that Atlus never made a contract of some sort that specifies that Persona is a Sony only franchise.

Either way, whatever happens. I'll buy the game xD. If it's released only on the VITA, I'll save and get one just for that game. I LOVE the series .

If I buy Persona 3 off the PSN to play on my Vita, do I get Persona 3, Persona 3 Portable (PSP game) or Persona 3 FES? I'm a little confused which version is which or if they're the same...
