While it will likely get better anyways, IE is simply not a great browser... yes even IE11. PS4 (like Wii U) use browser tech more similar to far better browsers like Chrome or Safari.

Well, these aren't the holidays. It's launch time, and if a software company can't get this together by now, then Sony is full of high ranking wizards.
GRANTED, it's a pretty meaningless accolade to me (and I can only assume most people) since the web browser anywhere else are superior. I can't remember the last time I need to go to the internet and went to my PS3/PS4 first. Nobody should be uppity about this.

Browsing on any modern smartphone or tablet will outperform the PS4 and have better interface, rendering, sharing options, etc. to boot. Yeah I pretty much only use the Wii U's browser if I need to look up something mid-game or if I'm at my parents house (don't like moving the PC).
Does the xbox browser have flash? if not I don't care how fast/slow it is.
Since when did people care about this? Quoting the Sony fans, "If I wanted faster internet I would use my PC"

And who, specifically, are you quoting right now? |
I was definitely thinking this.
I have absolutely no interest in using my web browser. I did ocasionally use my PSP browser before I had my Android, but I haven't used any console browser then other than in emergency (I had to use my Vita's when my phone was being fixed).
I just don't see why you would
That is impressive by the PS4, no doubt. I am also impressed by the browser on Vita, very simple and fast. I do like the interface on IE much more though.

Well I can tell you from personal experience that the browser on my Blackberry won't outperform - Oh, I see you said both "modern" and "smartphone." Nevermind.

Well, to be honest, that really is my opinion. I think I've used the browser on my PS3 exactly once and it would likely be the same story if I had a PS4 or an XO. My Vita, of course, is a different story.
However, I certainly don't speak for all Sony fans, even if I am flattered that the guy you quoted might think so.

Nah... My PS4 will be for games only. TV internet browsing is horrible no mater what console it's on. Better experience to use my phone which is always beside me. Besides, PS4 was marketed as being all about the games, so that's what I'm going to use it for. My all everything will be my Xbox One, that's what it was intended to do.
Now the real question is. Which browser is safer?
