Update with Black Friday impressions

Tagging for the BF read, it surely wasn't as crazy as EU launch though, riots all over Europe to get to play the PS4.

It's not the initial launch so much as next quarter that will determine that.

Most will remember the PS3 was sold out through December and all initial stock was just as hard to find. I know; I went looking for one because I didn't pre-order and it wasn't until Jan 7th that I found the first PS3 on shelves. If I'm remembering correctly, I found other PS3s on shelves throughout January, so the sold out period of time was relatively short.

By contrast, I don't expect to see PS4s on shelves until maybe March, barring those that were just stocked that day.

I'm pretty sure everyone's aware of this, but both the XB1 and PS4 are very likely to be sold out completely through December so it's really only going to be a logistical issue of how many units SCE and MS are able to deliver to retail outlets.

So Black Friday should have absolutely no bearing on sales of either console as both would have been sold out regardless.

Well after today I do expect  constant sell outs as well. PS4s will be impossible to get your hands on. XBO demand has dwindled a bit and although still highly desired, you can walk into places at the moment and have your pick of the litter.

Overall, a great holiday season for both Sony and MS.
