It's not the initial launch so much as next quarter that will determine that.
Most will remember the PS3 was sold out through December and all initial stock was just as hard to find. I know; I went looking for one because I didn't pre-order and it wasn't until Jan 7th that I found the first PS3 on shelves. If I'm remembering correctly, I found other PS3s on shelves throughout January, so the sold out period of time was relatively short.
By contrast, I don't expect to see PS4s on shelves until maybe March, barring those that were just stocked that day.
