Forums - Sony - Vita 10 Week Sales Countdown 2012 vs 2013! Week 6 Up [741k vs 654k] *2012 Winning

Vita should do well, I've seen a lot of people amazed by the remote play and will be buying one soon or later. In Japan it will do awesome this holiday with the long term seller Dangan Ronpa and GE2, Atelier Ronrona, Steins gate, and eventually FF X later this year.

Could go either way. US is a lost cause, but it could easily make up for that in Japan and Europe.

I´m crossing my fingers for you, my fellow Vita fans.

I couldn't agree more, logically US looks like it'll just be a holiday and no more. Tearaway is the biggest holiday game with i believe Killzone being a bundle this year. The thing about Tearaway is its new and even though as i seen it being a cool innovative game, Sony is retarded to let it release on the 22nd, same day As M$+Nintendo biggest holiday releases (X1+Launch Games and SM3DW+LoZ+Mario Party).

Europe I think It'll do better than last year and it will vita closer to hiiting Up YoY, japan is where it will shine this holiday, it will be GE2+Vita TV that helps out big time! FFX has only 2 weeks of sales for 2013 but will help out alot (comes out same day as LoZ)! It will be interesting seeing those two clash even though its kinda not fair lol

No way ps4 will spend a extra 170 dollars to this fonctionnality it's only great for people who already have both console.

It's not only this functionality (which is really awesome), but also for all the PSV games they are gonna get from the mandatory PS+ that will keep telling them - you already have exclusive Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Assassin's Creed (I take it for granted that it hits PS+ soon, in early 2014) and a bunch of other great games, you are missing out on so much fun! Just get the portable! 3 months into PS+ they will already have over 10 PSV games including many must-have titles. This PS4-PSV integration is playing for the long run, it's not meant to give a huge boost just this holiday when PS4 enters the market. While PSV will struggle to be up YoY in 2013, it should easily achieve this in 2014. Can't tell by how much, considering we know only about +/- 15-20 no gamez to be released next year, but the PS4 effect alone should carry it to better sales.

I don't understand your point of you ,you say people would buy a vita because of ps+ and then you say ps4 will help vita i don't see a relation.

PS+ is pretty much mandatory on PS4, so millions of people will buy it soon. When a PS4 owner gets it, he will get 2 PSV games a month on top of the yearly titles and thus will build a significant portfolio of awesome games whether he wants it or not After some 3 months they'll have around 10 great Vita games and will suddenly start to think "Hmm, I am missing out on so many games, this console isn't actually all that expensive and I don't even have to buy a single game to get hours of gameplay and get remoteplay on top of that!" This will be a huge incentive.

So in short:

PS4 = PS+
PS+ = tons of PSV games
tons of PSV = a huge incentive to get the console

This is why PS4 should improve PSV sales, but it won't be a sudden burst and it won't happen overnight, not this Christmas. It will happen over time, in 2014 and 2015 and should cause a more steady increase, thanks to which PSV will be up YoY in 2014.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Gonna be tough. Last year Vita had bigger profile games (CoD, the white model bundle with AC).

This year it has Tearaway and... maybe Final Fantasy X? Not sure if it's coming this year at all.

PS4 won't help much. In fact, it might even cannibalize Vita sales because people will spend money on PS4 and not have leftover for Vita. Maybe in the long term PS4 owners get Vitas, but not now. Most people using PS4+Vita are the ones who already owned a Vita before.

Let's hope Vita TV can boost it in Japan enough for a YoY increase. Things not looking good at all in the west.

Europe its doing pretty good, especially if its doing 35k right before the holidays, the vita in japan has GE2+Vita TV to boost sales. Only US seems to be lacking in sales, and with ps4+X1+2ds launch this year, vita only has Tearaway (which only so far Europe is getting the bundle for it to my knowledge)

psvita already have ps+ so people don't need a ps4 to get free games on Vita, people just don't see psvita library  attractive that's why vita is not sold well, why people would spent 170 dollars on a console with games that are not interrested on it.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Damn I'm losing hope for Vita. We don't have any original AAA titles to look forward to in the future, other than from Japan and a couple in Europe. What a flop. Sony is a piece of shit for not pumping out big releases like GT, GTA, God of War and MGS. Goddammit, RIP VITA. I will see whether or not to make my judgement final based off of Wednesday's Japanese Sales estimates.

I'm on the fence of buying a 3DS, I didn't think this day would come. The only Vita titles I can look forward to after this year are Gravity Rush and Soul Sacrifice 2 (Not Delta). And that looks like the only thing they will have for a long while. Ports, ports, ports and indies, indies, indies. They are great but that won't make Vita successful. Sony come on......

I don't know if I can trust numbers for Europe. They are almost too good to be true.
