I don't know what resolution my TV supports... but I think it's 1080p. It's just a guess though.

Getting a 1080p TV next week for the new generation.
I'm thinking a 42" for the size of the room.

Going onto my 3rd year with my 42 inch 1080p Vizio TV
Wii U recogizes the 1080p option, in comparsion my parents older HD TV won't show any picture until I bring it down to 1080i
Yup, since 2007. Now all TVs in my home are 1080p.

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)
When I moved out 3 years ago, I made sure the TV I got would last a while. It's a 40" 1080p LED by Sharp, and it holds out well. Looking forward to owning a WiiU and PS4 one day to take advantage of my TV.
If I only had 720p, I'd likely upgrade by the time I got a PS4/WiiU. I watch everything in 720p, and a few movies in 1080p already.

I have 3 1080p TVs with different screen sizes, and I'm not in a overly developed European country nor from a rich family. When today ("TV help thread") I saw how freaking cheap is a 60 inch TV in USA I would be really surprised if not everyone would have a 1080p TV there. Maybe just the lazy people.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!
