Im getting a 1080p tv for this gen, I'm aiming for 50 inches (probably a samsung). I might not even open my ps4 until I have the tv so I don't ruin the first experience on my current one, which is pretty dinky.

Yes, I bought a 32" 1080p TV about 3 years ago, planing on a new one but still saving for it.
But I think we are NOT the average gamer, make the same question on a less specialized site and you will get way more "I don't know", "just 720p" and the sizes will be smaller.

the only below-full hd TVs I see in shops around here are old super bargain priced plasmas
