Forums - Gaming - COD Ghosts Xbox One offline not possible without Live?

I see no problem if a console is banned from Live people can´t play any game off line.

If it´s all, I think it´s justice for the law abiding gamers.

Other interesting thing, Microsoft should be able to "kill" a console that was stolen.

the guy in the OP is a "law abiding" gamer

It is a sad day for gaming when you have labels like "Offline play enabled."

But I'm sure people here will go, "well I have an internet connection, so IIIIII don't really care." Because you know, fuck everybody else right?

Get your shit together MS/Sony.

even if Albert is wrong and the day one patch does remove the drm they guy hasn't downloaded the true day on patch he downloaded a pre-release patch

so not a big deal till the 22nd when the day one patch is out

Already explained and debunked. Back to your regularly scheduled Xbone trolling and spamming.

The explanation is also fairly worrying, consoles firmware not ready this close to launch, scary.

Scary if you're paranoid, not too technically savy, or looking for an issue I guess. Working on updates up to the last minute is common. Not surprised at all that they are still tweaking something as complex as this.

You go too far when trying to rationalize your point. Why would anyone be scared or paranoid by anything like this? We're talking about Video Games here and not a horror story!

These are valid questions and arguments people have about the many contradicting claims this company has been making since the day this console has been revealed. Try to make a point without taking cheap shots at others.

So much arguing for nothing, in the end if you buy at launch you most likely will have a decent internet connection for the 24h check if it's still there and I bet it will be patched the first week so the next batch of buyers won't have to deal with that.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

The console will be unblocked at the release day (and probabilly earlier).

ok? So if you were shipped a CD early before release by no fault of your own then you shouldn't be allowed to listen to it?

This was debunked before you even posted it, why no do some research next time?

Whats been debunked exactly? The guy who got hes One early cant play the game offline....

This implies that people who dont update their system wont be able to play Ghosts offline either.

All that Penelo is saying is that the reason for why he cant play offline is not related to DRM.

As it stands now the guy still cant play ghosts offline...yet he could when he was online.

The day one patch does not romove a thing from the XBOX One, in fact it adds a lot of things. When they did the 180 they knew the console would need a day one update so, the press release was like this:

"You will need to conect to te internet only once for the initial update".

People were mad because of the 24h check and this "only once" was a "that is not that bad, right?" way out.

The Xbox One IS a online machine. It was thought from the inception to target people that are conected all the time. The full instalation that would make disc base obsolete was a plus feature, the 24h cheking was just a "dirt way" of doing it.

If you are not a connected person, to bad, the Xbox One is not for you.
