Scary if you're paranoid, not too technically savy, or looking for an issue I guess. Working on updates up to the last minute is common. Not surprised at all that they are still tweaking something as complex as this.

For some minutes I guessed you are right but I saw your new post with the source... this post didn't debunked anything. BTW MS did a deal with this guy... they promissed they will remove the ban if the guy didn't talk about the UI (the deal is only about the UI)... what they want to hide before the launch? |
I need your address down there, because I can start making the tin foil hats now!!! THe delivery will be COD(cash on Delivery for you youngsters or out of the US types).
My guess is that The developer has blocked him, not M$.
It is near the end of the end....
Doesn't really matter it will be ready for launch MS is a software company after all.

and how do you suppose they do that considering he is banned and not connected to the internet. Activision sent out ninjas while he was sleeping?

Any offline block needs online check-in... that's the hole point... he was banned from Live but even so can't play the game offline.

The patch he downloaded was not the DRM removing patch, it was to make the OS work on the Xbox One. That much has been confirmed no? Albert seemed to have given a reasonable answer. Its just that he had to add the part about DRM never being built into the system in the first place. That contradicts both Marc Whitten and Major Nelson.

Yeah i am technically savy and i know if i was still working on major core functionality with less than 2 weeks before launching a product i would be scared, as it stands right now, offline DRM is still there.
Yes devs work up to the last minute, but not on core fixes, normally minor bugs or polish.

And himself because if there is no DRM how can it only play offline when conected to Live? His post is a total mess like others... after that he came to apologises because he didn't know stuffs lol

He's not a "PR person" to my knowledge he's never done PR in his life. He posts on GAF to debunk crap like this, doesn't = PR. He's the lead planner of Xbox One. |
I agree with your avatar, but disagree with your post :D

You know exactly what is being worked on and tweaked to say they are "core fixes"?
The patches people download have a limited time and then are gone. This forces people to update again, and ensures everyone is on an up to date firmware version. The problem for the guy is his console is banned from connected, so his update is dead and he cannot reconnect to get a fresh update. For all we know the core functionality is there and intact, there could be any number of things being worked on. And when its closer to launch they roll out a real update free of time constraints and the dude is unbanned, can connect and download, then unplug and play offline like any other console.
Not hard, not a big deal. Unless someone wants to try and make it one I guess.
