if that's an issue for you,.. you probably don't need to wait for the slim.

Money is an issue. I was planning on purchasing a console by 2015, so might as well wait for the Slim version xD

I thought, first-day update was an issue to you ;)

This, I stole from grandpa...It's called soap.

Well I have Charter cable internet and its miles better then the crappy DSL I used to have from AT&T.  Wouldn't know about Comcast since it only was available in my area for a short period of time but my guess is that they couldn't compete with Charter and Time Warner Cable.  Also I'm pretty sure that in the future the X1 will come with the update already installed.  Also I'm pretty sure that people that bought it at or near launch and have no access to the patch can always return it from where they bought it and get their money back.

The PS4 will also have a massive day one update so I don't really seen what is the problem here. Also I highly doubt you have crappy internet if you are able to spend $500+ on a console at launch.

The difference is with the PS4 you don't have to update to play games locally according to Yoshida. So you can not update the PS4 if you don't want to.

But yeah it's not that big of a deal most people buying it have internet and the ones that don't can probably update it at the store.

What I'm getting from all your responses is that Microsoft is in no way, shape or form at fault for releasing a console whose main function doesn't work out of the box. And that if you're A. poor (or, at least, not rich) or B. live in an area with crappy internet, it's actually your own fault you can't enjoy the games that the XBone is bringing.

is it not common sense to hook up your console to the internet right away after you unbox it? common!

i predict this will be a massively huge patch, im calling 6gb+

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Can't get the update don't buy the console at launch as numerous people already said that later versions of the console will have the update already installed problem solved.

I couldn't care less. If your internet is SO bad that you can't download a 1-3gb update, maybe you'd be better off waiting until the update is prebaked into all new systems. That, or buy it used.

If you're hard for cash, you won't be able to spend $600+ on a brand new console+games anyway, and if you live in a rural area, then you'll just have to wait a few months. No big deal. It's not like you'll be unable to ever play and enjoy the Xbox One.(hyperbole, much?)
